Notes: Not beta-read. A followup from yesterday's drabble. Just what did Heero see in that brief moment aided by a single flash of lightning?
A Brief Glimpse
The lightning only let him see Duo for a brief moment, but his eyes took note of every feature he could.
Duo was facing the window so Heero saw his full profile. An arm was outstretched as he reached forward to close the window. The dark shadows on Duo, formed by what wasn't lit up by the flash of light, highlighted lines. Heero even glimpsed muscles that he'd traced with his hands, his lips, his tongue.
In that suddenly light, Duo's skin had looked almost white; he was so pale. It brought his chestnut hair into the spotlight, but it was Duo's blue eye that caught Heero's attention; a stark contrast in the black and white of shadows and brief light.
A moment later, all that was left was the image in his own eyes when Duo was doused in darkness once more. He closed his own eyes and knew that he could map out every line on his lover's body.
He proved it, tracing a hand up Duo's side when he returned under the covers. A finger traced a line, taking note of a scar that Heero had not seen in that brief moment. He knew that it existed all the same.
The sight of Duo lit up by the lightning was something Heero knew he would remember for a long time yet, and anything he didn't see, he knew he would be able to fill in with his own memories and with his very own touches.
Whatever he couldn't remember, he would simply study and relearn.
