Royal Affairs Prologue
On The open road, one can be free from all troubles. You can forget about everything and just drive till your heart is content. That is just what Quatre Winner was doing, except he was speeding on a peaceful country road and endangering himself and others. Or at least that's what his father would say.
Right now Quatre was mad. His father had yelled at him not forty minutes ago. Told him that he was irresponsible because he got a B- on a test. He got the highest in the class. His father then went on to tell him that he had to do better because he, being the only son, would be taking over the family business. But Quatre wanted to do something else. He didn't know what right now, but he knew it wasn't what his father had planned.
After having been yelled at, Quatre stomped up to his room. After he paced for a few minutes he went to his closet. He put on a pair of tight jeans, and t-shirt and boots and then his leather jacket. He carefully avoided his family and snuck into the garage and took a car.
Of course, only the convertible would do. He drove it quietly off the property and then once he hit the open road, he gunned the engine. He was now nearing a hundred miles per hour and enjoying it. To hell with responsibility; he's sixteen and in desperate need of fun.
However speeding on a curvy road has its down side. Especially when you're on a mountain road. There was no way he could make the turn in time. Not at the speed he was going. The car broke past the guardrail and flew over the edge, plunging both Quatre and the car to certain death.
Quatre's eyes widened. The seconds seem to move slowly by as he waited death. Why did I do this? Was all he could think of. And then all became dark.
