Royal Affairs Part 2
Catherine fidgeted, adjusting her dress yet again.
Standing next to her was Relena who stood calmly. A few moments prior they had been informed that the prince and his group had entered the capital city. Now the two of them waited.
"Why are you so nervous?" Relena asked.
"Because we're meeting a prince." Catherine answered.
Relena rolled her eyes. "Your brother is a king and you're nervous about a prince."
"It's not the same. Trowa's my brother first. And this is just not the same."
"Right, well maybe His Majesty will marry you off to this prince."
Catherine sighed. "I don't know I kind of liked the prince from the north. You know he was very kind and handsome."
"Oh I see and have you told your brother this?" Relena smiled.
"Um well I have hinted. But you know Trowa."
"Yes His Majesty doesn't take hints very well." The two girls giggled. They stopped at the sound of horses approaching.
Two people rode horse and following them were four horses drawing a carriage. They rode straight up to the two girls. One of the men rode a brown horse look down at them. He was clearly not impressed. He had dark almost black eyes and his black hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail. He wore white silk pants and a long silk white shirt. Strapped to his side was sword.
The other horse was a white stallion and riding it was man with wild brown hair and piercing cobalt blue eyes. He too had a sword strapped to his side. He wore tight black pants and black boot that came up to his knees. He wore a green jacket and cape that was black on one side and a deep green on the other.
The carriage stopped and two women stepped out. One had long black hair and black eyes. She wore a long flowing white dress with designs of flowers at the bottom. Behind her was a woman with light brown hair in two braids that hung over her shoulders. She wore a long light green dress with an abstract pattern to it.
"Where is His Majesty?" The man on the white horse asked.
Catherine took a deep breath. "His Majesty is in an important meeting. He asked that I, his sister, greet you." Catherine did a small curtsy. "My name is Catherine."
"And who are you?" The man looked over at Relena.
Relena smiled. "I am His Majesty's cousin, Relena Peacecraft, princess of the Sanq kingdom." She too curtsied.
"Hn."
"I thought the Sanq kingdom was destroyed." One of the women asked.
Relena look at the black hair girl and narrowed her eyes. "I am still the princess."
Before Relena could say anything else Catherine spoke up. "Forgive us but we have not met anyone from the eastern land. Which of you is the prince?"
"I am." The man on the stallion got off. He gave a small bow. "I am Prince Heero Yuy. These are my attendants and friends."
"A pleasure." Catherine said. "Allow me and my cousin to show you to the throne room." Heero nodded and they headed to the throne room.

Quatre opened his eyes and immediately regretted it. The sun was shining brightly in his eyes. He looked over and noticed something was lying on the bed with him. Towards the foot of the bed was something that looked human but it had a tail. It was curled up and had a long braid. Suddenly the door opened and a young girl entered carrying a tray.
"Good mornin'! How are ye taday?" She placed the tray on the bed over Quatre's legs. Then she saw to other figure. "Oh you, off the bed." She swatted at the figure. It rolled off the bed and away from her. "Don'ya let His majesty's pet run ye of the bed, 'kay."
"Um okay. Thank you."
The girl smiled and left the room. Quatre picked up a piece of bread and had a feeling someone was watching him. He looked over to see two violet eyes watching him. "Do you.... um... do you want some?" Quatre held out the piece of bed. It was quickly snatched from his hands. "I'll take that as a yes. Do you talk?"
A very faint 'yes' was his answer.
"What's your name? I'm Quatre."
"Duo."
"Nice to meet you. You can... um you can sit on the bed. I don't mind." Quatre watched as Duo slowly got up on the bed. "Um I don't mean to sound rude but what are you? I mean your not human, and where I come from there aren't anyone like you."
"I... I don't know. His Majesty found me one day. I have been here ever since."
"Oh, I sorry I asked."
"S'ok."
"Why do they treat you like an animal?"
"Because I am. At least that's what everyone thinks I am. His Majesty... His Majesty doesn't treat me that way though. He tries very hard to treat me like everyone else. But it... doesn't always work that way."
"How sad."
"Not so bad. At least I have food and a room. Well I did have a room."
"What happened?"
"Lady Une put you here."
Quatre's eyes widen. "I'm so sorry."
"Not your fault. Um you can't tell anyone that I talked to you. His Majesty won't mind but the others might."
"Alright."

Trowa looked up as his sister entered the Throne room, with her was Relena and whom he assumed was the Prince and his advisors. They walked in and bowed to him. Zechs stood at the off to the side. Trowa didn't miss the look Relena was giving one of the women. He sighed to himself; he had a feeling that Relena might cause a problem. She had a habit of overstepping her bounds.
"Your Majesty, may I present to you Prince Heero Yuy."
Catherine's voice pulled him out of his thoughts. He nodded to the prince, who bowed a little to him.
"These are my attendants. Chang Wufei, leader of the Dagon Clan." The man with black hair bowed. "His wife Chang Meiran." The woman that Relena had been glaring at bowed.
"And my cousin Sally Po."
The woman with two braids curtsied.
"Welcome to my kingdom." Trowa said. "Rooms have been made up you for. Would you like to rest before we start our talks?"
"That is most kind of you." Heero said.
"Catherine and Relena will show you around. I ask that you join me for dinner. If that is all right?"
"I would be honored."

"So what is 'driving'?" Duo asked.
Quatre blinked. "Driving, why?"
"You said you were driving and you went off the road and then you woke up here. What is driving?"
Quatre thought for a moment. How do you explain driving a car to someone from a medieval world? It's not as if Duo knew what a car was. "Where I come from we have something called a car, it's like a carriage but horses don't pull it."
"Then how does it go anywhere?"
"Um well it's hard to explain but it just goes. Anyways it has this thing called a steering wheel. It tells the car which way to go. And well I was on a twisty road and I couldn't get the wheel to turn and then I went over the edge."
"I don't get it, but that's okay." Duo smiled brightly. "Will you be going home?"
"Want your room back huh?" Quatre smiled. "Actually I don't know how I got here so I don't know how to get home. What....what do you think the king will do with me?"
Duo looked the boy over. One of two things could happen. Lady Une could put him to work in the castle or Trowa could find something for him. "That depends on what His Majesty wishes."
"Wishes about what?" Both Duo and Quatre jumped at the sound of Trowa's voice. Trowa raised an eyebrow. "I see you've made friends already, Duo." Trowa walked further into the room.
"Um... yes." Duo said softly.
"You've already been talking, Duo. I don't think our guest will mind you talking like normal. Right?"
"Um.. right." Quatre answered.
Trowa sat down in a chair. "So how are you feeling today, Quatre?"
"Better and Duo has been wonderful company."
"Yes I always thought so."
"Did you come just to check on me?"
"Yes. I have a break and decided now would be the perfect time. Are you hungry?"
"Yes."
"Duo ate half your breakfast didn't he?"
"Hey!" Duo glared a little
Trowa chuckled. "Sorry Duo. Lunch should be here soon. And don't worry, Duo, I made sure to tell them to bring you some too."
About that time the door opened. Duo hurried off the bed and sat next to Trowa on the floor. The same girl from the morning brought in a large tray with lots of food on it. She sat in down and then curtsied to Trowa. She then left.
"Better get what you can. Duo has a bottomless stomach." Trowa told Quatre.
"Hey, that wasn't nice." Duo pouted.
"But true." Quatre giggled at the two.

"Nice rooms they have for us." Wufei said. He sat one the couch in Heero's room or rather chamber. Meiran sat next to him and Sally sat in a chair. Heero was looking out the window.
"Even if we had to argue with that girl that we were to sleep in the same room." Meiran said.
Relena had all but insisted that Meiran and Wufei sleep in different rooms. Had Heero not interjected Meiran may have killed her. Catherine however had no problem.
"Heero, why did you tell the king that I was your cousin?" Sally had been taken by surprise by that statement in the throne room.
"You are my cousin." Heero told her.
"I'm the widow of your distant cousin."
"It's still a cousin, Sally." Meiran said. "So therefore you are his cousin and he didn't lie."
"Yeah but still, Heero, you could have told him I was your healer."
"Look at it this way: now you are just as respected at we are."
"What do you think of the king?" Heero asked.
"I think he may be fair. Most of the people we talked to said he was a fair and kind king." Wufei was the first to speak. "His sister seems much the same way. However his cousin needs to learn her place. The Sanq kingdom is gone. Therefore she has no power and her title means nothing."
"I agree with my husband." Meiran spoke up. "The kingdom seems to live up to the rumors. But I'd watch out for that Relena girl. I don't like the way she was sizing you up."
"Won't matter." Sally said. "If she asks to be wed to him, Heero can simply tell the truth. Let the people of this kingdom think what they will. The people of the Eastern Lands have no problem with it."
"Tomorrow we will begin the talks." Heero stated. "I expect you all to behave yourselves while we are here. But don't forget your obligations."
"Yes sire." The three said at once.
