The Princes' Choice Part 1
A long time ago in land of another universe (stupid beginning I know) the world was ruled by royalty and magical beings roamed the world. No one remembers how these things came to pass as they were, but they believed things would remain the same. Five high ruling countries were known to be ruled by kind people and the kingdoms were wonderful places to live. The five kingdoms made up much of the world. But that was only recently.
The Land of Conal was rule by the House of Khushrenada. The King was a man by the name of Treize. He gained peace with the Sanq Kingdom by marring one of the royal family members. King Peacecraft of Sanq had two children, a son and daughter. Both families had seers, advisers, and other holy men and women check with the stars and mystic books to see weather the marriage would work. In the end all agreed Treize would have to marry King Peacecraft's son, Milliardo.
After the wedding peace was known to all in both kingdoms. King Peacecraft's daughter was then set to rule his kingdom upon his death. She was glad. She had many plans for when she would be Queen. And she knew who she wanted to marry. A prince from a neighbouring the kingdom of Kosh, Heero Yuy. He however thought the idea was dreadful. Mostly because he thought she was a spoiled little brat and did not care about those around her. Lucky for Heero, the seers, adviser, and other holy men and women agreed that she should not marry him. They felt that Princess Relena was better suited for Treize's cousin Dorothy Catalonia. Relena was not happy. She even went so far as to say she would not marry anyone.
Upon hearing this news, Heero's parents thought that he would be marrying, Prince Quatre of the desert kingdom. The two were good friends and they spent much of their time together.
"Heero?" A blond man walked up to his friend. His friend was staring out at the land from his balcony of his study. He was wearing his normal daily royal clothes, all of which were cobalt blue and black. The tailors said the blues bought the color of his eyes, which was true. His hair was, as usual, a mess, it seemed to have a mind of it own. "Friend Heero, you seem much deep in thought."
"Hn." Heero looked to his friend, his blond hair was neatly combed and he was dressed in his royal desert clothes of light pinks and blues. "Are you returning home, Quatre?"
"Unfortunately, yes. My parents have asked me to return so that we may start discussing finding me a mate."
"Hn. My parents have asked that I meet with them today for the very same reason. You don't think those bakas decided we are a good match do you?"
"If you're referring to the seers and all them, you never know. Although they did get Relena off your case."
"That's what you think. She still doesn't believe them."
Quatre chuckled, "I heard that King Peacecraft said she would marry Dorothy or he with spilt the country in two and give half of it to Treize and the other half to the Dragon Kingdom."
Heero looked at his friend, "You're joking."
"You never know. I heard second hand, the information could be wrong." Quatre sighed, "Well my friend I must be off. It is a few days travel and my parents said it was important. I shall miss you."
"And I you."
The two shook hands and bid each other good-bye. Heero then made his way to the throne room where his parents awaited him. He entered to find seers, adviser and other holy men and women, who he thought were all bakas, seated in the room. He approached his parents.
"Son," his father started, "We asked you here because it is time for you to find a life mate."
"Hai, Father." Heero stated.
His mother smiled at him. "Come and sit down son, listen to what is told to us." Heero sat on his throne that was to the right of his father. It sat lower than his father's and mother's, so that he looked less important than they did. "We have not yet heard the news, son" His mother assured him. "We thought we would wait until Prince Quatre left for home."
"Thank you Father, Mother."
"Now let us hear what you have to say my court." The King ordered.
A short man came forth and adjusted his glasses, "Sire, after much looking we have finally found the answer you seek." He paused and the King nodded. "As for your request of the suitability of Prince Quatre, we are sorry to say that he is not meant for our Prince Heero."
"Then who is suitable?" The Queen asked, placing her hand on her King's.
"Well you see the prince is ah... how shall we say it...."
"He can be difficult, your highnesses" a seer stated.
"We have done much studying. The stars and mystic book say that Prince Heero is to be a great man, but his heart is trapped. It will take the work of a magical being to release it."
"What are you saying?" Heero spoke up and glared at the man, "I have to go out and find a magical being to fall in love with and then marry?"
"Yes your highness."
"That's ridiculous."
"Well then, son, you are excused to go and prepare for your search."
Heero looked at is father and knew defeat, "Yes, Father." He left the throne room and headed for his bedchambers. Thinking to himself about how he would rather be single. 'Looking for a mate. Bah! They already said I was going to be a great man and King, why the hell do I need a mate?'
