Gundam Pirates Part 6

Miima walked towards the hanger bay with the boys following behind her. Today they were taking a field trip. Miima thought it was time to show the boys what they were going to fight for. Or at the very least learn to fly. The hallway they walked down was full of people. All of whom stepped aside as Miima walked by. Some saluted her, others bowed and some just stared on wonderment.

Walking into the hanger bay they were presented with a howl of pain. "Shit ow, ah hell."

"Sir, it would not be wise to cause yourself harm." A voice said.

"Thank you Destiny I knew that. OW!" A male voice intoned.

"If you knew then why do you continue to harm yourself?"

"Because a certain AI keeps complaining that she needs an upgrade!"

"I see."

Miima walked around the corner and spotted the two who were arguing. A man about six feet tall with light brown hair stood in front of a computer display. He wore a tan shirt and brown pants with lots of pockets with tool sticking out of them. Out of left arm was a cord of some sort going to the computer. Next to him was a transparent woman. She was skinny and was wearing a purple skin-tight jumpsuit. Her skin was a light violet. She had short blond hair with wisps of purple.

"Ahum, are we interrupting?" Miima placed her hands on her hips, trying desperately not to laugh.

"Greetings Miima. I was not aware you would be coming this morning." The woman turned; her eyes were multicolored and her face held no emotions.

"I thought I'd surprise you, Destiny."

Destiny looked at the boys. "Unauthorized personal are not allow in this area."

"I authorized them. Command order Miima 5398 command 3."

"Code valid and accepted." Destiny blinked. "Welcome to the M.H. Destiny starship class First Grade Battleship. I will require voiceprints and designation for future reference."

"Gods, not now Destiny, I'm doing a frikin' upgrade." The man said.

"Boys may I introduce you to Frankenstein. And yes I'm serious. Frankie my boys." Miima said.

"Hey, how's it goin'?" Frankie said then turned to Miima. "Going to take them out?"

"That was my plan. Got a ship for me?"

"Take the kid. I can't do the upgrade on the kid until I'm done with Destiny."

"Which has been five years coming." Destiny said.

Miima turned to the boys. "Frankie's our resident genius. He designed and built the Destiny."

"And then forgets to upgrade me." Destiny says.

"I DID NOT forget. I was just.... busy." Frankie turns back to his work.

Miima chuckles. "Come on guys, Destiny's baby is this way."

"So where are the boys?" Dorothy asked.

Fightra looked up from the computer. "Their trainer thought it was a good idea to show them what they'll be doing."

"Which is?"

Fightra's ear twitched. "Protecting this part of space."

"I thought that's what we're here for?" Relena asked.

Fightra looked at her. "You're here for the politicians. You are going to enter the world of politics and help run this system. With both yours and Dorothy's psychic abilities you can insure no one is running a governor's mind or something. Catherine and Hilde are to be your bodyguards. Got a problem with that?" Fightra narrowed her eyes. Everyone shook their heads no and went back to studying.

Wufei looked around the ship. It was small but not cramped. In fact the ship could hold ten full-grown adults comfortably. There was couch-like seatstowards the middle of the ship. Bathrooms and kitchen area in the back. A medical area on one side and a bank of computer relays on the other. The front of the ship had two chairs. On dead center in front of a type of window or view port and the other further off to the side. Between the front chair and couches there was a consol. It was a semi-circle with different screens and buttons.

"Where is the weapons consol?" Wufei asked.

"Look above you." Miima said.

Wufei did but he didn't understand. There was what looked like a hatch and that was it. "I don't get it."

"The guns controls are up there."

"How do you get to them?" As far as Wufei could see there was no ladder of any kind.

"Well first you have to understand that the Destiny was designed solely for Firemind's team. Frankie had weapon ports made for us. Fi can simply jump up there if need be and I can float as well as Blade and Gaysie."

"So no one else can access it?" Duo asked.

"Correct." Destiny's voice answered. "Weapons system can be altered to fit new individuals. However they must have proper clearance."

"Miss Miima, I thought the destiny was the bigger ship?" Quatre asked.

"It is, but this is the Destiny's baby. The AI program has been install in this ship to a certain point."

"Huh?" Duo scratched his head.

"I cannot produce a holographic image of myself in the baby." Destiny offered.

"But if there are no ladders how does one get up there?" Wufei asked.

"Access denied. That information is classified."

"Bypass and add. Authorization Ma998." Miima said.

"Code accepted. Weapons center is equipped with moveable chair."

"That's classified?" Wufei asked.

Miima looked at him. "Stop and think about that. If everyone knew the chair could come down to them then anyone could use it."

"Well they could try." Destiny said. "The weapon system is state of the art. A novice couldn't control the system."

"It can't be that hard." Wufei muttered.

Miima looked at him. "Maybe you'll find out. I'll have Frankie put in a simulation in the training room. Then you all can see how you do."

"Sound fine to me."

"Now who wants to learn to fly first?" Miima asked. No one answered her. "Oh come on, someone wants to."

"I believe that Mr. Yuy already has training on this vessel." Destiny said.

Miima's eyes widen a bit. "Really?"

"According to ship records one Heero Yuy traveled with Command One Firemind six months ago. She gave him some flying lessons."

Duo looked at Heero. Heero only nodded that the records were correct. "Was it fun?" Duo asked him in a whisper. Heero looked at Duo and nodded again.

Duo looked back at Miima. "I'll try."

Miima looked at him. "All right come sit over here at communications and watch what I do. Now the rest of you sit back there. Destiny, I'll need command rerouted to navigation."

"Understood rerouting now. All command is now rerouted to navigation."

"Thank you." Miima strapped into her seat and then looked at Duo. "Take-offs and landings can be a little tricky with this kid. Watch what I do and then when we're up you can take over."

"Okay."

"Now." Miima raised her voice so the others could hear. "The rest of you will learn to fly. You all will also learn other fine points of the ship. Engines, Med-lap, communications, and weapons. That way if you're on ship and one or more members of your team are hurt you can safely run the ship."

To say that Miima was impressed would have been an understatement. Shortly after take-off she let Duo pilot the ship. He was a born natural. To further impress her, Heero switch with him and he too was a natural. Of course the others took turns but they did not catch on as easily as Duo and Heero.

Trowa however took easily to the medical area. Quatre enjoyed the communication area. And Wufei kept asking about the weapons. To which Destiny answered almost all his questions. Miima also found that both Heero and Quatre had a knack for command. Though Quatre had a better idea of strategy.

Miima landed the ship back in the landing bay right next to the Destiny. She walked around to where Frankie was bound to be. She smiled at the scene. Destiny had her arms crossed and shaking her head. Frankie was rambling about something to the person next to him.

When Quatre saw the two men he had to look twice. They were twins. However one of them was just a few inches taller and he carried himself differently. The taller one held himself in a way that spoke of command and honor. The shorter one had a sense of easygoing attitude.

"You have returned." Destiny said. Bother men turned to look at Miima and the boys.

The taller one grinned. "So Mii how do like training?"

Miima narrowed her eyes. "Just fine, no thanks to you."

"Aw come on, we were on a mission."

"Whatever."

"By the sword Miima, you are impossible!"

"Well la de da." Miima walked up to him, she floated up until she was eye level. "You, Mr. Note, have no sense of honor."

"Excuse me? I have NO honor! I, the first Protector of the Child and the Holder of the Four Storms, have no HONOR! Silverstorm is a god of honor. I follow his teachings and I have NO Honor! Girlie you are in so much deep shit right now."

Miima laughed. "Come boys let's go." Miima then headed to the door with the boys following her. "I don't know WHAT Jade sees in you anyways." She through over her shoulder.

"I hate Third Classers."

Duo fell onto the grass. The day was over and Miima had let them go and do what ever. He felt lucky; he hadn't seen Hilde all day. Of course now he was outside. Instead of sitting under the tree he decided to go into the grassy field. He was lying down and the grass came up around him.

He heard what sound like footsteps. He tensed thinking it might have been Hilde. However he sniffed the air and Heero's sent was in it. He relaxed. Heero was the only one he was truly relaxed with. His other teammates would relax a little with them. He knew they weren't a threat. But he was never fully relaxed with them.

Heero sat down next to Duo and watched him. He sat so he could watch Duo without turning his head. Heero himself couldn't full understand why he was drawn to Duo. He knew he liked Duo. He knew he wanted Duo to be happy and to be with him. But Duo didn't like to be touched. Heero wasn't too happy with people touching him either but Duo he wanted to touch. He waned to feel Duo's hair through his fingers. Feel the touch of his skin and maybe even the feel of Duo's tail.

"Heero?" Heero looked at Duo who was lying on his side.

"Hn?" Heero didn't like to talk, but he loved the sound of Duo's voice. It was musical to him. And if Heero had to talk to get the braided boy to talk too, he would.

"Why... why do you only talk to me?"

"I don't know. Why do you only let me touch you?"

"You don't scare me. Be... before the orphanage I lived on the streets. People.... some people would try to grab me and pet me. Some tried to cut my hair or my tail. Some would be nice and then try and do those things to me." Duo paused and played with a piece of grass. "Then I went to the orphanage. Sister Helen was so nice. She wouldn't touch me unless I let her. It took me almost a year before I would let her."

"I understand now why you don't like to be touched."

Duo slowly moved his hand closer to Heero. He brushed his hand against Heero's. Heero made no attempt to move his hand. He would let Duo make the moves, even though he want nothing more than to scoop the other boy up and kiss him senseless.

Heero did decide that he would copy Duo. He let his powers go. Heero's ears changed and he grew a tail. His senses enhanced. He could see Duo better. The light from the setting sun was getting darker.

Duo's fingers traced Heero's slowly. Duo heard a purring, after a moment he decided he was doing it. But then there was another purr. Duo looked up at Heero. He was staring intently at Duo. Duo realized that Heero was also purring.

"You're purring." Duo said.

"Hai, so are you."

Quatre looked up from his book. He thought he had heard something. "Trowa, did you hear something?" Trowa shook his head no and continued reading. "Oh."

Trowa snuck another look at Quatre. He had been careless and sighed. Softly of course but enough for the blond boy to hear. It's not that he couldn't talk. But since his parents' death he had nothing he wanted to say. Nor was there anyone he wanted to talk to. Oh sure there was Catherine but she had always mothered him. Even before their mother's death. Now this small blond boy was pulling at Trowa. Not that Quatre knew this, but Trowa found he wanted to talk to the blond, among other things.

Quatre moved a little closer to Trowa. Ever since the tall boy had helped him in the training room he had been drawn to Trowa. And now he wanted to hear Trowa talk. Catherine was upset with Quatre because he had gotten the tall boy out shopping. To further her anger, her Trowa would respond to what Quatre asked. This made Quatre very happy.

"Trowa do you talk to anyone?" Quatre looked over at Trowa. Trowa shook his head no. "Will you ever talk again?" Trowa thought for a moment looking at Quatre. He began to shrug but changed it to a nod. Quatre smiled slightly. "Maybe one day you'll talk to me." Quatre went back to his reading.

Trowa stared at Quatre a few moments longer. Before going back to his reading he decided that he would talk to Quatre one day. Maybe he'd even tell Quatre how beautiful he was and how happy he made Trowa. Yes, maybe that would be what Trowa will tell him.

Wufei glared at the girl across form him. This girl dared to stand between him and the TV. He didn't care what her problem was, he wanted to watch the news. He was tired and didn't want to read or deal with anyone else. Normally the TV room would be empty. But there was girl gripping the remote and not listening to him.

Erial glared up at the boy. She was watching something and this boy should leave her be. "Go away!"

"No I wish to see the news." Wufei said.

"News not on, be back in three ten minute times."

Wufei blinked he couldn't figure out what was wrong with the girl. She didn't talk very well. "News." He ground out.

"Not on. Leave you now."

Wufei could not figure out what accent she had. But he was tired of this game. "News."

"Three ten minute times."

"I don't understand." Wufei growled.

"She means the news won't be on for another thirty minutes."

Wufei turned to see Miima in the doorway. "Why didn't she say so?"

"Because she's just learning to talk."

"What?"

"She's been without voice and hearing for most of her life. Up until about two weeks ago. That's why she's here."

"So she watches cartoons?"

"It's a way to learn. Actually she just wants to learn from all things. But even her teachers can't be with her all the time. TV seems to be the next best thing. Well I think I'll go now." Miima walked out of the room smiling.

"Will you watch the news when it comes on?" Wufei asked.

"Yes, news smart. Learn much."

"Thank you."

"Erial."

"What?" Wufei looked at her.

"I Erial."

"Aa I'm Wufei."

"Wu k?" Erial tired to say back.

"No WUfei."

"Wukay?"

"No Wufei."

"Wukay."

"NO WUFEI!"

"Wukay."

Wufei groaned, how did he find these people?

TBC...

Feedback please. Oh look I asked nicely. ^_^
