Perfect Part 10

A large luxury car stopped at the curb and Duo ambled over to the driver's door. It opened before he got to it and he stopped warily. A well-dressed older man swung one leg out and smiled up at him.

"Oh my, what a beauty you are," he said softly. "I didn't expect..."

Ordinarily, Duo would have had a quip waiting, but the man wasn't looking at him the way the others did. He met Duo's eyes easily and his hard shell softened.

"Hi. What can I do for you tonight?" Duo smiled.

"You're not at all what I expected," the man began. "Would you have dinner with me?"

Duo's eyebrows shot up. "Dinner? As in food?"

The man smiled; it was a gentle friendly smile. "Yes. And conversation."

Duo blinked. "Dinner and conversation... I have to say, I've never been asked for that," he smiled, warming to the silver-haired man. "I'm not sure I know how it's done." He fluttered his long lashes. "You might have to teach me..."

"It would be my pleasure," said the man, grinning now. "My great pleasure." He started to get out of the car. "Let me get the door for you."

He would open the door for me?! Oh my...

"Oh, no; please don't trouble. I'll get it." He loped around the car to find the door swinging open for him. He glanced toward the sidewalk and Snow gave him a happy wave as Rose grinned. He waved back and seated himself gracefully in the lush leather seat.

The man gave his name as Robert. For no discernible reason, Duo gave his real name.

"Ah, a unique name for a unique young man. Would the Harbor View be all right with you?" he asked.

Duo blinked. Only one of the best restaurants in town!

My God! He's serious!

"That would be very nice. But I'm not really dressed for a good restaurant." He plucked at his cropped t-shirt and torn jeans. "I mean, I look exactly like what I am."

Robert smiled. "I don't mind. I think you're lovely. What would you like to talk about?"

Duo thought for a moment. "You're brave, to be seen in a good restaurant with an obvious whore. Why?"

He shrugged. "Why not? I've had a good long life; I've earned the right to go where I please, when I please and with whomever I please. Wouldn't you agree?"

"Yes, I would," Duo grinned.

"Actually, I've always wanted to dine openly with a whore, but I didn't have the courage when I was younger." He glanced at Duo. "Climbing the ladder professionally, blending into the flock, raising children; it all sucks away at your courage. Some things fall by the way."

"You're married?"

"Widowed. My wonderful wife passed on eleven years ago. She was one in a million," he sighed. "She knew I was gay, well, bisexual really, and she loved me knowing there were always men in my life. We raised three children together. She was a shoulder to cry on when my affairs went bad. She was a great deal of fun. I loved her deeply."

"I'm sorry," Duo said quietly, laying his hand on Robert's leg. "A very unique relationship..."

"Yes. We were good friends, which helped. And I was completely discreet. I never wanted to cause her embarrassment. She gave me three children, entertained some of the most boring business connections and never said a cross word to me, except the time I weeded the carrots and left the weeds," he laughed. "Tonight I want to have companionship." He smiled at Duo. "Beautiful companionship."

Duo colored and smiled back, turning in his seat to lean closer. "Flattery will get you anything," he breathed.

"I thought this would be a bonus." He dropped a bundle of twenties on Duo's lap; a thousand dollars.

Duo didn't look down. "Only a bonus." He touched his lips to Robert's cheek. "You're the real thing."

Ascending to the restaurant in the glass elevator, Duo looked out on the harbor. "Beautiful. Just beautiful."

"Yes, it is. One would never know there was a war going on."

"Everything looks better at night."

"'All cats are gray.'"

"Something like that."

As soon as they stepped into the lobby of the Harbor View, Duo knew he couldn't go in wearing his street clothes. Robert might not be embarrassed, but Duo would be, for him. Robert was a gentleman. He deserved something better than a street whore as his escort.

"Robert," he whispered, "I can't do this, not in these clothes."

"It doesn't matter to me."

"It matters to ME. Will you trust me? Ten minutes; there's a boutique on the first floor."

Robert didn't hesitate. "Of course, I trust you." He handed Duo a folded bill. "Something pretty."

The boutique carried only a limited selection of men's clothing and none of it would Duo have been caught dead in. He jumped to a rack of women's clothing and quickly found a pair of shiny black pants and a deep red silk blouse. A fast look through the selection of summer shoes and he found a pair of strappy black sandals with a decent heel. He tried everything on and found it quite suitable for an elegant dinner. He snapped the tags off and handed them to the clerk.

"I'll wear these," he said stuffing his other clothes into his bag.

"Of course, SIR," she muttered under her breath, but scanned the tags, took his money and gave him his change.

"Hey," he called from the open door. "Nice dress; was it your grandmother's?" he laughed, indicating her dress. She threw a pen at him.

He stashed his bag in Robert's car and took a quick look at himself in his mirror. "Nope; doesn't cut it," he muttered to himself. He ripped the tie off his braid, brushed it out and drew his hair up into a ponytail on the top of his head, then slapped on some mascara and eyeliner and a touch of gloss, before pronouncing himself cleaned up.

Precisely ten minutes after he had left Robert the waiter was holding his chair as he seated himself at their table. Robert looked him over in amazement.

"What a surprise," he murmured. "You're quite the chameleon, Duo."

"I didn't want people to talk about you."

"I don't care if they talk, but you certainly look breath-taking. Would you like a drink?"

"Tequila on the rocks, lime and salt on the side."

Robert raised an eyebrow and said to the waiter, "I'll have the same." When the man had gone, he turned to Duo. "Tell me about yourself."

"Oh, it's just the usual story," Duo protested archly.

"I doubt that, but even if it is, tell me anyway. Please?"

So Duo told him the edited truth, leaving out his current profession. Their drinks came and then the waiter to take their orders and their food arrived before Duo finished. They left off chatting to concentrate on eating.

Duo had indulged himself with bay scallops and broiled swordfish. He didn't forget to flirt though. Under the table he ran the side of his foot up and down Robert's leg, pretending wide-eyed innocence when Robert mock-glared at him.

After dinner they had chocolate mousse for dessert, then danced close and slow and sipped brandy.

"You are a walking miracle," murmured Robert in Duo's ear. "Beauty, intelligence, wit... And attitude. Mustn't forget that," he smiled. "Have you ever had a protector?"

Duo thought of his partners, but they weren't protectors. "Do you mean a pimp or a sugar daddy?" he countered.

"A sugar daddy."

"No. Nothing permanent like that."

"Your choice?"

Duo grinned and his eyes glittered. "Of course! I enjoy my independence."

Robert led him back to their table. "Would you go with me to my room?"

"I would be honored."

Duo treated himself to a shower and a shampoo, stepping out onto the mat to find Robert holding a thick fluffy towel for him. He sat on the bed while Robert dried and brushed his hair, at the same time brushing tender kisses against his neck and shoulders.

When he went to unfasten Robert's trousers, though, the older man stopped him gently.

"No. I want to do it. I want to give you the pleasure you deserve."

Duo blinked. "But..."

"The customer is always right," he murmured. "And this customer will find his pleasure in yours."

"Okay," agreed Duo happily. Robert laid him down and began slowly and tenderly to touch him.

After the first few minutes Duo had almost forgotten that he was a whore and that this was his customer, his john, his trick of the night. Using only his fingertips, his hands, gentle kisses and soft cool breath, Robert tickled and teased and tortured Duo to arousal. He found sensitive places Duo had no idea of and worked magic on the usual erogenous zones.

Duo shrieked, gasped and giggled as the coil of desire wound ever tighter within him, until he could barely breathe, his whole body shuddering with Robert's every touch. In the bare instant before his eyes rolled back and his entire being exploded into a billion stars, Robert lifted him into his arms to hold him tightly and to whisper sweet encouragement in his ear.

And then the world went away very suddenly and Duo was drowning in a river of fire and ice. Burning, burning, the orgasm wrenched at his soul, threatening to sink him in madness, but the ice held him, carving cool release over his enflamed flesh. Shudders, spasms, convulsions shook him; he heard himself screaming even as the fiery tide ebbed and consciousness crawled back from its shelter.

But Robert didn't stop there. He grinned at Duo's expression and whispered, "The old man still has it. You are an angel..."

He began again, the same but different and before the waves of pleasure had fully dissolved, Duo was once again riding the crest. This time the tremors zinged over his nerves, thundered along his muscles and vibrated through his bones and again he could do no more than surrender to his conqueror.

He opened his eyes to find Robert smoothing his fingers over his thighs and belly and licking Duo's cum from them.

"Robert..." he breathed, and was amazed to discovered he had said it aloud. "I... I... you..." He wanted to wrap his arms around the silver-haired man and sink right into his body. He wanted to remember this for as long as he lived. He wanted to stay right here, like this, until hell froze and the gods were no more than ashes. No one alive, no fantasy he had ever devised, had ever taken him to such heights of madness. Even ten minutes after, he still quivered with the tremors coursing through his body.

He rubbed his cheek against Robert's chest slowly and Robert sat back, lifting Duo onto his lap, still wrapped in his arms.

"Ah, little angel, little violet-eyed demon," he murmured, stroking Duo's hair tenderly. "Thank you, thank you a thousand times... I've spent my life anticipating this moment... and it was as wondrous and as fine as I could ever wish for." Gently, he kissed Duo's mouth.

Duo arched up to meet him, to somehow express his wonder and his gratitude. Eight years of nameless, faceless men, and finally he knew what love and sex could be, should be.

"Robert... I've never... No one..."

Robert lifted one eyebrow in surprise. "Never? Impossible, my angel!"

Duo shook his head as he tried to put his thoughts together. For just an instant, the barest flick of time, he had reminded Duo of... Silly! "No... Just... just..." Shit! He began to cry and wiped at his eyes.

"Shhh... Don't cry... I'm sorry I've made you sad." He tickled behind Duo's ear and he began to giggle. "That's better. Will you shower with me, Duo-of-the-magical-eyes?"

It took a minute for Duo to nod and allow Robert to carry him into the bathroom. In the shower, Robert sat him down and shampooed his thick hair and soaped his slender body, massaging away any soreness. When he finished, Duo lounged lethargically against the wall, combing his fingers through the dripping strands of auburn and admiring the man who was surely old enough to be his grandfather.

Why wasn't he my first? Why did I have to go through all those other jerks? Could I..? Maybe with... But...

He allowed himself to be dried and his hair brushed, feeling lazy and disconnected. Robert ordered room service, a bottle of light wine with cheese and crackers and fruit. Duo was surprised to find that it wasn't yet 2200.

They nibbled at the snack and talked a bit, not about each other or sex; just easy conversation about the weather, the war and what the next fashion fad would be. Silly talk, neutral talk until Robert glanced at the clock.

"I have a further request, if you're not engaged tonight."

"I'm not engaged by anyone but you," Duo murmured with a smile.

"Would you sleep here, with me, tonight? You are the most charming and delightful partner I have ever had and I would very much like to have one last night in a beautiful young man's arms."

Duo blushed. "How can I refuse such flattery, kind sir. The answer is 'yes,' unequivocally."

"You have given me an incredible gift, Duo," said Robert softly as they relaxed to sleep. "This has been the best night of my life."

This is where I want to spend my life, thought Duo as he snuggled comfortably in Robert's arms. In bed, secure and protected and... and loved. I want this.
