Asked by keire_ke: Sanzo-is-Duo's-cousin verse, the part where Goku and Duo get introduced.
Introduction
"This is so exciting!" Goku dropped into the seat beside Sanzo and handed him one of the cups he was holding.
"Hardly."
"It is to me," Goku pointed out. "This is the first time you've let me meet a member of your family!"
"It doesn't mean anything." Sanzo took a sip of his coffee.
"Sure it does. It means you've accepted the fact we're going to be spending the rest of our lives together."
Sanzo nearly choked on his coffee. "What does meeting my cousin have to do with that?"
"You're starting to introduce me to your family! That's how it goes- you start with the cousins and work your way in."
"I haven't met your family."
"I invited you to the last family dinner. You said no, remember?" Goku grinned. "Not like it mattered. I had lots of pictures."
Sanzo put his cup down, disturbed. "But the only kind of pictures we've taken-"
"Sanzo!" A cheerful voice hailed him from across the room. Sanzo didn't move, but Goku turned and waved.
"Which is your cousin? The guy with the braid or the guy with the glare?"
"Braid." Sanzo frowned. "What guy with a glare?"
A moment later and his cousin was standing beside the table, a cheerful smile on his face. A dark haired man with a glare stood beside him. "Sorry we're late!"
"It's no problem!" Goku chirped back before Sanzo could speak. "I'm Goku, Sanzo's boyfriend."
"Boyfriend?" Sanzo glared.
"Lover," Goku amended. "I'm working on him accepting the boyfriend part."
Sanzo's cousin laughed as he sat down, tugging his companion down beside him. "Yeah, good luck with that. I'm Duo, and this is Heero." He patted the glaring man's arm. "Don't mind him, he's always like this. Well, not always always, but out in public, if you know what I mean?"
Goku nodded. "Oh yeah, I know all about that."
Sanzo reached for his cup again and wished it was something stronger. He had a feeling he was going to need it.
