Drabble 51
It was one of those moments that made me wish I carried a camera with me. When I strolled into Wufei's office and dropped the package on his desk, he gaped at me in shock. The complete jaw-dropped, eyes wide sort of surprise.
"How did you get in here, Maxwell?" He demanded and I stuck my clipboard under his nose.
"Delivery. Sign here," I said in my best bored tone and pushed the pen into his hand.
A soft chuckle made me glance across the desk. Heero sat there, his mouth quirked into something that he'd consider a smile, shaking his head.
"Duo, seriously," Wufei glared at me. "Deliveries are only made to the security desk- they're supposed to take them- how did you convince them to let you come up here?"
"Who said I talked to them?"
"You sneaked in?" He asked incredulously. "How? Why?" I rolled my eyes at him.
"Sign here please." I tapped the clipboard and he signed. I took my pen back and grinned at him. "It's from Winner," I told him. "He said to make sure I delivered it to you personally."
"So you somehow bypassed the security desk-?" Heero asked as Wufei's attention shifted to the package.
"They wouldn't have let me deliver it myself," I countered. "and I'm not telling Quatre that I didn't follow his orders exactly."
"That's probably wise."
Wufei slit the package open and carefully pulled out the small box inside. "He found it-"
"What is it?" I asked and Wufei raised an eyebrow at me.
"You mean he didn't tell you?"
"I'm only the deliveryman, Chang."
"And you didn't look?" Heero asked and I shook my head.
"One of Quatre's packages? With special delivery instructions? I may be reckless at times, but I'm not suicidal."
