Californication Christmas Drabble
Home for the Holidays
Heero dropped the last card on the stack in front of Duo. "All finished."
"Almost," Duo was scribbling their names in the last one. "One of these years I'm going to do the whole computer label address thing and save us this headache."
"I'll do it. Right after I finish the proofing."
Duo finished and dropped the last envelope on the pile. "So," he said, leaning back in his chair and smiling at Heero. "Now that the obligatory card thing is done, have you thought about what you want to do for Christmas since Sally and her family are on that safari trip?"
Heero leaned on the table, chin in hand. "Not really. I know we got invited to a few holiday parties." He made a faint face and Duo hid his amusement. "Was there one you wanted to go to?"
Duo shook his head. "Quatre's not giving one this year, what with the honeymoon thing and all, and his would be the only one I'd want to go to- unless is Dorothy giving one?"
"She never does. She and Une go on that retreat thing- which I really can't see the two of them in a cabin somewhere without the amenities- but that's what they do."
Duo laughed. "I'll bet it has at least a few. Well, there's an idea. We could hole up someplace by ourselves and have our own Christmas. How does that sound?" He watched as his lover's face lit up.
"Someplace with no mail service." Heero suggested and Duo laughed again.
"As bad as it sounds- I want someplace warm." He glanced out the window and shivered. "All this snow is too much for a SoCal boy like me."
"So we go to your house- didn't we discontinue the mail there?"
"Our house now," Duo corrected, leaning over the table and lowering his voice. "We did- and I'm thinking spending some time like that first weekend we had together sounds good..."
"You want to go to Disneyland?" Heero blinked innocently at him.
A moment later and Duo was sitting on his lap, his back against the table, a mischievous smile on his face.
"Sure, we can go to Disneyland. They decorate it for Christmas you know." Duo played with Heero's buttons. "But I had a few other things in mind."
"Did you?"
"Oh yes." Duo slid his hand under the hem of Heero's shirt. "Quite a few other things."
"Like what?" Heero pulled Duo more securely onto his lap so that he could touch his lips to Duo's collarbone.
"Like some of your favorite things to do."
The stack of Christmas cards fell to the floor as Heero lifted Duo up and onto the table, his hands busy at Duo's belt. "Does it start like this?"
"Sometimes," Duo drew in a gasping breath as Heero's hand slipped inside his jeans.
"Then I think you could persuade me to go." Heero bent his head and Duo closed his eyes.
"On second thought," he murmured. "I'm really good right here...."
