Kaizoku no Shou Part 11

Duo carefully stepped onto the warm beach and gasped in delight. From the boat the sand had looked pink, but he'd dismissed it as a simple trick of the light or something! But now that he was standing on the shoreline, it was indeed a light pastel pink.

He turned back to Heero and impatiently waited for him to pull the boat farther upon the beach. Once he'd finished Duo launched himself onto Heero's chest and purred. "It's beautiful! I love it!"

Sighing as Heero's arms tightened around him, Duo rubbed his cheek against Heero's chest and closed his eyes. He would have been content to stand there for hours, but Heero scooped him up into a careful embrace and walked into the line of trees that began about fifteen feet up the beach.

Eyes wide in curiosity the braided boy examined the lush surroundings. There were so many beautiful plants and birds he couldn't wait to go exploring. They seemed to be headed down a fairly warn path, and Duo trusted Heero to know the way.

Smiling happily Duo looped his arms around Heero's neck and relaxed against his chest. The perfume of the forest was intoxicating, but not nearly as much as the natural scent of his koi, and Duo inhaled deeply. He wasn't at all concerned with how they looked- since there were no one else around for miles he could indulge himself.

Wishing he had a guitar for accompaniment Duo closed his eyes and sang.

"Like an hourglass without any sand
Or a bricklayer with bandaged up hands
My life is as empty as a cold-hearted man

Without, without your smile"

He remembered the man who'd taught him this song. Tall and thin his light brown hair hung wildly around his ears, and his eyes always shone brightly. He claimed to have written it, and Duo was inclined to believe him.

"It's what's behind your eyes that give meaning to the soul
And I have realized the purpose of it all
And I will stand with you
And with you I will crawl
As long as you're mine"

Many of the other street people had shied away from him thinking him mad, but he's never shown Duo anything but gentleness and so gained the young boy's trust.

"And I would rather hug you than argue
And walk you to the art museum
Gazing at paintings
none of which could compare
to the beauty
Beside me
which surely is a host of heaven

Oh yeah"

But then the authorities had taken him away to the "institution". Perhaps he had been crazy. More likely than not they just wanted to stop him from singing his silly songs.

"I and I would bake a cake if a recipe I had
If I made a mistake you would surely think I'm mad
But I am as merry as the day is long
And much longer than that
Just to be, to be with you

I am elated in your ways and fearful of the prize
For the fight is never over in another person's eyes

My eyes are as sightless and as lonesome as the night
When I'm without you"

Duo's voice sang out clear and sweetly. This was Adam's song, and he wanted to do it right. He would remember the eccentric musician because no one else would.

"And I would rather hug you than argue
And walk you to the art museum
Gazing at paintings
none of which could compare
to the beauty
Beside me
which surely is a host of heaven

Oh yeah"

It was a good song, and if Adam had been here to play his guitar it would have sounded much better. Duo continued in a wistful tone. It did remind him of Heero so much. Maybe Adam had known...

"Like an hourglass without any sand
Or a bricklayer with bandaged up hands
My life is as empty as a cold-hearted man

Without, without your smile"

As the final notes faded from his voice Duo felt Heero hold him tighter.

"That was beautiful koneko. Where did you learn it?"

"From a friend." Duo smiled serenely. "Most called him mad, but I'd say he was more of a... visionary."

Suddenly Duo realized that Heero was no longer walking. He looked around to see that they were standing before a small building. He wasn't sure it could be called a hut or shack; it was much finer than any hut or shack he'd ever seen, but it was too small to be called a house.

"Is this...?"

Heero nodded. "Hai... this is where we will stay." He paused. "Do you like it?"

Duo released Heero's neck and hopped to the ground before turning to Heero and winking mischievously. "Last one in has to brush the winner's hair!!" Duo whirled and ran for the door.

"I can't believe you won."

Heero smothered a chuckle as he sat in front of the chair his koneko pouted on. Even with the head start Heero had overtaken the longhaired boy... if only the prize had been a bit more interesting... ~Oh well... there is always later.~

The muttering ebbed and Heero smiled slightly as he felt the brush slowly run through his hair. He didn't really care if Duo brushed his hair or not, but what he did care about was showing his koneko that he would not win every time.

Heero reached up and gently grasped Duo's wrist before pulling him down onto his lap. The longhaired boy easily fit into his arms and molded to Heero's chest. While the lovemaking was amazing, Heero had to admit that he liked this even better. Just being close to Duo was enough to make him content.

And aroused.

The lovemaking WAS amazing.

Heero nipped at Duo's neck while running his hands under his koi's thin shirt, letting Duo know exactly what he wanted.

Duo quickly slid the cotton shirt off over his head and gave Heero a 'come hither' look.

Yes... this was paradise.
