Summary: Men are seventy-five percent more likely to forego sex with their spouse in favour of a new video game. Heero decides to test the theory out.
Disclaimer: I do not own Gundam Wing, nor do I own the characters. I have borrowed them here for some fun and creativity, and this is not for profit. I do, however, own the plot mentioned here, and any instances that you may find similar to real life events are purely a coincidence. All of the characters depicted in this story are adults.
Sex Versus Video Games
"Take a look at this, Heero."
Heero looked up at the man standing beside him, then down at the newspaper that was thrust under his nose.
"Men are seventy-five percent more likely to forego sex with their spouse in favour of a new video game," he read from the headline. He raised an eyebrow at the man holding the paper. "Your point?" he asked.
"My company is doing this to those poor men and women!"
Heero sighed at his boss. "Quatre, you do this for a living. The fact that you are doing this to 'those poor men and women' would be what's putting money into your pockets."
"Fair enough," Quatre grinned. "Lucky for me..." he looked pointedly at the man sitting at a desk not too far from where they were, headphones on and staring intently at the computer screen. "Trowa gets plenty sick enough of video games at work."
"I'm not interested in your sex life, and I'm sure Trowa doesn't want to know you're sharing it with me."
Quatre chuckled. "Well, it's almost a compliment, I guess. After all, we're one of the top rated companies in terms of game production, and you are one of my best." Quatre dropped a second item onto Heero's desk. "And this is your newest release demo." With that, Quatre left his side.
The headline stayed in Heero's head all day, and through his dinner as well.
"What's on your mind?" his lover asked curiously for the fifth time as they did the dishes. He clearly wasn't satisfied with the previous answers, so Heero tried another one.
"I brought home a new demo and I'm not sure what you'd think of it."
"A new one!" Duo grinned. "Let me at it!"
They finished up the dishes quickly and Heero dug the small disc from his bag. He watched as Duo sat down on the couch, deft fingers clicking easily through the set up and selection.
"An RPG?"
"Yes." Heero sat down beside his lover. "You can get through a bit of it before the demo ends. If you like it I can bring you the first release in a week or so."
"I always like them," Duo said, leaning against Heero's shoulder although his eyes remained fixed on the screen. "You make them, after all."
Heero smiled at that and watched as Duo read the brief story and began the game. Within a few minutes, he was completely engrossed commenting here and there about effects and sound and graphics. Heero tilted his head, remembering the newspaper story from this morning yet again.
A half hour later, Duo paused the game. "Want something to drink?" he asked, setting the controller down.
This was Heero's chance to test the theory.
"Yes." With that, he pulled Duo in for a kiss, licking at his lips until Duo opened them.
Heero's heart pounded in fear that Duo would pull away after a few moments, more interested at the game than in him. But Duo's hands pulled at the hem of his shirt first as he became a little more aggressive...
...pinning him down to the couch...
...rocking their hips together...
...moaning his name in his ear and making him shiver with want.
Heero relaxed his mind and let Duo take over, glad that his lover fell into the twenty-five percent category of men that preferred sex with their lovers over new video games.
Not long after, Duo ran his fingers lightly through Heero's hair. The man was sleeping soundly on the couch, dressed only in his wrinkled shirt since Duo had cleaned him as best he could before heading to take a quick shower himself. Smiling at the image that Heero made, Duo sat down on the floor and picked up the game controller again. He chuckled affectionately at the soft snore from Heero, and turned back to the sleeping man.
"You aren't the only one who reads newspapers, lover boy. After all, I am the gaming lifestyles journalist for Quatre's gaming magazine, and these are the sorts of articles I read and refer to."
He turned to the television and clicked the button to resume his game. "You just had to test me. It's not like I would have turned you down, at least not for a demo. I mean, you made these games. Playing them is almost like having sex with you!" he muttered. Then he sighed, hearing another soft snore. "Well, at least now I get to play the game in peace without you telling me what comes next and where the secrets are."
