Summary: Duo seeks Heero's opinion and permission to wear a certain costume for Halloween.

Disclaimer: I do not own Gundam Wing, nor do I own the characters. I have borrowed them here for some fun and creativity, and this is not for profit. I do, however, own the plot mentioned here and any instances that you may find similar to real life events are purely a coincidence.

Notes: Oh my gosh I should be writing Christmas fics hahaha. ^___^'' but I wrote this (in sociology class) and it was on my laptop, then I totally forgot about it until I opened up my sociology notes just now (considering my midterm is this coming Tuesday...!). So, here it is, late for the occasion, but...hopefully still enjoyable. ^_^

Duo's Costume

"I'm gone," Heero said, pushing his chair back into place and pulling on his jacket.

"Okay," Duo replied, seated across his fellow agent as their tables were pushed up against each other's. "See you tomorrow?"

Heero nodded. "See you."

Once Heero was out of sight, *and* several minutes had passed indicating he would not return to his place, Duo grabbed the file he was reading along with his can of pop and sat down in Heero's seat.

/Mm, still warm from him sitting here./ He sighed at his own actions, then glanced at the calendar.

October 25th.

/Just a few more days and I'll tell him./ He turned back to his file. /Just a few more days./

Heero frowned at the paper skeleton, cute as it was, staring down at him from above the door of the elevator. /Is it necessary to decorate even the interior of our elevators? Whose idea was it?/

Regardless, he ignored it and stepped out of the elevator, heading straight to the office he shared with Duo. Along the way two colleagues stopped him to wish him a happy Halloween and to ask if he would be attending the Halloween costume dinner later on that night, which was saying a lot since his and Duo's office was situated exactly twenty-five steps from the elevator. He shrugged, not having decided yet since he would only attend of Duo did and he hadn't thought to ask.

/Strange. If Duo were planning to attend, he would have talked all about it. So why hasn't he? Does he not plan to attend? Or maybe he has other plans?/ Heero felt an internal twinge at the last thought; last Halloween, the first since the end of the Barton Coup, Duo had shown him all about Halloween, telling him ghost stories that didn't scare him, telling him of traditions and trick or treating and even dragging him to go try on costumes. Heero had looked rather strange dressed in the gundam costume with the plastic mask over his face, but Duo had looked extremely hot in the black cloak wielding a plastic scythe, not that he had told Duo that.

Duo tended to like commercial holidays. So why not this one, this year?

"Duo?" Heero greeted his office-mate with the partial question.

"Morning, Heero, what's up?" Duo yawned and raised his own mug of coffee towards Heero and his desk, indicating the steaming cup sitting on the desk.

"Thanks," Heero automatically said. "Um..."

"Something up?" Duo set his coffee cup down and typed rapidly on his keyboard, smacking the enter button with the middle finger of his right hand a little harder than necessary.

"Yea. They...outside. Asked me if I were going to attend the Halloween dinner tonight. Are you going?"

Duo fiddled with his braid for a moment before answering. "That depends." /Damn it! I was going to ask him out after I had my fill of coffee; and here he's asking me to tell him about...well, here goes nothing./

"Depends? On what? Your costume?" Heero asked curiously.

"Well, I do have a costume in mind, I just don't know if I can wear it."

"Why not?" Heero sat down and took a sip from his mug. Perfect coffee was the outcome whenever Duo made it. "You don't think you'll look nice? You can wear it for me and I'll tell you if something needs to be fixed. But you've better fashion sense than me anyway."

"Don't analyze the situation to death, Heero." Duo chuckled a little. "I need permission to access it and wear it."

Heero frowned. "You've put it off then. The dinner is tonight."

Duo nodded. "Yea, I put it off."

"So get it done now. Are you going?" Heero repeated his original question. He blinked when he noticed Duo still fiddling a bit with his braid, a sign of anxiety on Duo's part. "Something wrong?"

"Nah." Duo tossed the braid over his shoulder and stood, walking around to Heero's side just as Heero set his jacket down on the back of his chair. "I'll need your help." He brought the braid back over his shoulder and fiddled with it again.

"My help?"

Duo nodded, looking away, then cleared his throat. He looked back at Heero after a moment. "I was wondering if you'd mind...if I dressed up tonight...as your boyfriend."

Heero blinked. Was Duo asking what he thought was being asked?

He blinked again. Was Duo asking him out? His heart thumped rather loudly, picking up the pace a little.

"Listen, you...don't have to. I mean...I don't know what I mean. Do you know what I mean? You can choose to punch the lights out of me though and we'll pretend I never asked. Once I recover from the punch that is-"

"Yes." Heero blurted. "You can dress up as...my boyfriend."

Duo blinked in return. "Seriously?"

"On one condition. You'll let me do the same."

"Dress up as your boyfriend?" Duo asked, confused with shock by the reply.

"Baka." Heero reached to grasp the braid and tugged lightly on it. "As your boyfriend. If you'll let me."

"Seriously?" Duo asked, holding his breath. Heero nodded.

Duo let out a sigh of relief, wrapping his arms around Heero. "Can I make one more request?"

Heero wrapped his arm around Duo, the other hand still holding the braid of hair. "Yea?"

"Can...Every day be Halloween for us? So I can wear this costume every day?" Duo murmured.

Heero smiled. "Every day, Duo. Every day."
