Woke Up One Morning... Part 26

All but running to the table, Tyce carefully lowers his laptop as the rest of us all gather in around behind him for a view of the screen. Calling for a virtual rewind to a few minutes before, he straightens and allows the feed to roll.

The initial disappointment I had at not being able to break away with Heero for a while is gone in an instant, seeing how excited the former sergeant and Bryce are over whatever they have to share.

Seated in the first floor living room, reading as he usually does when he is home alone, Krutza lowers his book at the sound of his cell phone. Reaching over to the table beside him, he opens his receiver flip to place it to his ear after a brief check of his caller ID. "Ivanov," he greets casually.

My eyes widening, I look over to an equally surprised Heero. If only he had a way of bugging that damned cell phone to hear the other half of the call.

Looking back to the monitor, I watch as Jesse rises from his couch and sighs, "Yes, I know that business is slow. Give it time. Enough time has to pass before any interested buyers will look to discuss prices. I had warned you that too much attention would scare people off for a while."

'Come on,' I think to myself, watching intently on the screen. 'Come on, say the name of what you're selling so we can end this.' Until we hear that, anyone could argue that we moved in without a clear understanding that what these men are up to is at all related to illegal activity.

Ivanov goes on for bit as Krutza paces the room, perfectly silent and his face unreadable. "Don't worry, I understand," he nods. Grinning after a brief pause, he states, "No, there is nothing of concern to report here. All is running smoothly. Couldn't be better, in fact."

Audibly sighing in relief in hearing that, I notice Heero's own release of air as his shoulders sag. Trowa's eyes lighten a bit as he smiles in my direction, thinking the same thing that we are- Jesse didn't suspect a damn thing from our date last night. The change in the security database was just a standard update.

Then, something very interesting happens. As he continues to listen to his co-conspirator, Jesse walks off down the hall and unlocks the office across from the one I had broken into. It is just one of the many places in the estate I have wanted to investigate because of the large, black safe beside the desk inside.

Unlocking the door, he steps inside to the safe. Quickly, he jots something down on a piece of paper then turns the lock dial on the safe right, then left and right again to open it. Watching the paper slide inside its safe haven, I mutter under my breath, "I want in there."

Finally, there is a clear idea of where I need to hit tomorrow.

"Very good," Krutza smirks as he closes the safe back up. "I will keep you posted if any changes come up before your next check-in. Take care, friend."

At that, he closes the flip and lowers his cell phone into his pocket. Running a hand through his short, black hair, he clearly looks a little more than happy to have ended that discussion with his 'friend.' Stepping from the office, he re-locks the door behind himself.

With a wide smile, Tyson turns to the rest of us and shrugs, "It's not the smoking gun that we need, but at least we know that he and Ivanov are business associates as opposed to casual acquaintances. I'm going to reach the Commander to let her know about this while sending over this bit of our feed while continuing my watch."

I can't help but grin at that. He's every bit the former army-man- eager to please the Commander with his findings. Being the one to have been there for the call, he certainly deserves the honor after all of his shifts on watch.

Brown eyes falling on me, the former sergeant offers, "I can also zoom in on that combination to the safe so that you can get in there quickly tonight." Raising a hand, he winces, "Not that you wouldn't have figured it out on your own. You're one of the only people I know that can get into anything."

"Anything that will help shave off time while I'm in there will be most appreciated," I chuckle. "Thanks, Tyce." He nods, a relieved smile on his face.

Rubbing his chin, Bryant considers aloud, "Maybe we'll have some luck if we get Agent Link to trace the cell phone records for when that call was made for tracking. I'm sure that these guys are better than that, to leave a trail leading right to them via phone calls. But we really shouldn't leave any stones unturned. I can work on reaching Adam to get his team on that."

Trowa nods, "I'm going to get back to work on breaking through the security system. There could be come holes that I'll be able to punch through to shave off some time in hacking it."

Holding up the papers piled on the table, Wufei announces, "And I'll be sifting through these for a while yet to help Agent Link's team if there is anything I've missed on the first read through."

My head spinning towards Heero briefly, I flash him a small smile that he returns- both gestures completely unnoticed. Facing Tyce, I tell him, "I'll take over the watch at the end of your shift in a couple of hours. Right now, I need to get something in my stomach since I haven't had breakfast."

"Same here," my husband adds. His head turning towards Trowa, he offers, "Once I take care of that and a shower, I'll help you out with hacking that security system."

It's all too innocent and believable of a claim for the others to have any idea we're trying to get some alone time together. Everyone agrees to the plans and we all head off to handle our dubbed tasks.

Giddy all over again, I lead the way into the middle hotel room with Heero on my heels. Closing the door behind us, he pushes me up against the wall in a rush that leaves me stunned only briefly before he presses his mouth against mine for a fierce kiss.

Nothing like getting right to using our time to the fullest.

I groan deeply, gripping the slick tiles just around the main tub faucet tightly as Heero thrusts in and out of me from behind. The warm water from the showerhead above continues to pour down on us, but it's one of the last things that is really on my mind right now.

Trying to keep my balance while I'm bent forward at the waist and just how damned good it feels to be filled by my husband are the only things I'm really paying attention to.

After being at this for a while now, I can feel myself nearing the edge quickly. Biting my lip to stifle a moan when a feel my prostate hit again, I push myself back and forth in time with every thrust so that he can get as deep as possible.

His wet hands gripping my hips, 'Ro growls deep in his throat as he picks up the pace and force in a sure sign that he is reaching his limits. No doubt sensing the upcoming end of my own endurance, he reaches forward to start stroking my wet, throbbing cock.

Good timing as I only need a few good rubs to send me spiraling into the blissful oblivion of a massive orgasm.

My hand shaking, I reach up to the fresh washcloth I that had brought in with me to shove it between my teeth. Clamping down on it, I let out a muffled cry that is lost by the loud stream of water along with the seed pumping out of me.

As I quiet, body trembling, the cloth is taken from my mouth. There are only a couple more thrusts before Heero's own, muted cry reaches my ears and I feel a thick warmth shoot up inside of me.

Pushing myself up to stand straight, I brace my feet against the walls of the tub to keep from falling while my lover pulls out of me.

'Ro's arms tightly wrap around my waist to steady as best he can, his own form shaking the slightest bit. Kissing and nipping my shoulder and neck as I bend it for better access, he breathes, "God, I needed that."

I chuckle, nodding, "Me too." Of course, that's quite the understatement after the hiatus of our intimacy since our arrival here in Lugano more than a week ago.

One can only take long showers to take the edge off when their husband is only feet away for so long.

Resting the back of my head on his shoulder, my eyes close as I gladly soak in more attention from those assaulting lips. A finger under my chin turns my head so that he can devour my mouth for as long as we can both go without air, he slowly pulls away to lock eyes with me. "Mine," he whispers fiercely.

"Only yours," I smile. Taking up the washrag, I set about cleaning him off as he shampoos and conditions my hair before taking care of the rest of me. By the time we're finished actually washing up and turning the water off, it was just beginning to cool off.

Stepping out of the tub, we set about drying and robing each other. Heero sets to brushing and braiding my hair before we leave the steam-filled room hand-in-hand. "Now it actually feels a little more like a honeymoon," I chuckle as I turn to look out at the breathtaking view of the lake far off.

'Ro squeezes my hand and smirks, "When all of this is over and before we move to L2, I promise to take you on a real honeymoon."

My mouth falls open at that offer so that I gape at him before asking stupidly, "You mean it?" Chuckling, he takes my hand and leads me to the couch where he pulls me into his lap so he can cradle me close.

"Of course I mean it," Heero nods, nuzzling the side of my neck. "I saw that dreamy-eyed look you had when we first saw this place. And you know that I can read you better than anyone when it comes to what is going on in here." He taps my temple for emphasis.

Snickering, I shake my head, "Yea, that you can." I let go a contented sigh as I soak in both the warmth in and around me along with the view. "After everything that we've been through, I think we're definitely due a nice, long vacation."

Raising an eyebrow, I grin at my husband, "You know... we don't even have to narrow our honeymoon to only seeing one place. We'll have all the time in the world after this case is closed."

A small smile on his own face, 'Ro replies, "I thought the same thing. Greece would be a nice place to spend time in. So would Australia. Ireland."

Laughing at actually having a chance to discuss a real honeymoon, I throw in, "The U.K. Ireland. Not to mention some spots in the Colonies." His nose still buried in the nook of my neck, my lover nods and hums and affirmative that tickles the skin there. And to my embarrassment, I actually giggle.

I pull back so that our eyes meet and I whisper a sincere, "I love you."

Heero's smile grows as he responds just as softly, "I adore you." My breath hitches in my throat and my brain freezes to process those rare words from him. The last time he told me anything of his feelings for me, he blew me out of the water just as he has now.

Lightly 'punching' his shoulder, I snort, "You know, you're making me feel really bad that all that I can come up with is an 'I love you' at times like this. I never knew that you would be such a damned romantic when given the chance."

Shrugging, my husband comments, "And it's not a competition. What matters is that the feelings are genuine. I know that you truly mean those words when you say them." He grins all the wider as he leans in to rub the end of his nose against mine as he shares, "And I am deeply touched by that."

Damn. He really is a romantic.

I quickly close the distance between us to kiss him deeply until I almost drown. We're both panting pretty heavily when we finally come back up for air. There is no further need for words on the matter as we just stare into each other's warm gazes and smiles.

After a long, comfortable silence, Heero takes a deep breath and asks, "Are you absolutely sure that you'll be able to handle seeing Krutza tomorrow night?"

Gently tracing his fingers over the side of my face, he admits in a low growl, "It took... every bit of strength that I had in me to keep from blowing the whole mission so that I could tear that bastard to shreds when he kissed you."

The corner of my mouth curls up. All this time, I had been wondering what his reaction to that lovely little moment was.

I can't honestly say I would have had the same strength to hold back if our roles had been reversed. Judging by the tone in his voice, it's more than clear just how hard a thing that was for the formerly dubbed 'Perfect Soldier.'

Frowning over the memory of last night's incident, I lower my gaze and reply, "That never happened before, my losing control of the situation whenever I had been used as bait like that. He caught me completely off of my game by just lunging like that." I peer back up into the cobalt eyes on me and vow, "That won't happen again. I'll be more careful next time."

Not like I really have a choice, I leave unsaid.

Considering now that the security system can't be turned off for a simple break-in to take some evidence, these get-togethers are the best chance we have at wrapping this up in days as opposed to weeks of waiting for the right slip up.

And Jesse has been covering his tracks long enough now that the expectations of that slip are pretty low.

Satisfied with that, 'Ro unclenches the fists that his hands had balled into around my waist over his recalling that move from Krutza. When those palms open up, I ghost my fingers over the trail marks of holes that the curved shape of his finger nails had discolored the skin there last night.

Yea... he sure as hell had a time with his being forced to stay back.

He earns a wide smile from me for that. "Thank you for trusting me," I tell him before pecking his lips with a chaste kiss. Grinning back, he rubs the top of my head with an affectionate glow in his eyes.

My stomach decides to make its frustration at being empty for so long known with a loud growl. Chuckling, I reluctantly rise from my lover's lap and readjust the tie around my deep purple robe. "Well, on that note, I think we better eat while we run the water so that the others hear there were two showers taken in here."

"Good thinking," Heero laughs in amusement over the fact that had I thought of such a thing in advance. Although, I am pretty sure he would have come up with the idea on his own if I hadn't first.

It's always good to cover all of the bases. Especially when dealing with other, detail-oriented, Preventers.

The rest of the day after that shower was pretty uneventful. Adam called to confirm what we all thought about that call from Ivanov- that it was impossible to track where the call came from as the signal was purposely bounced from towers around the world to protect his location. There was not even a number to go on as both lines were secured.

Like we all knew, these guys know what they're doing to keep the authorities from sniffing too close around their operation.

Even with all of these measures to keep Krutza's identity and contacts hidden, it's not enough to bring him in. As Lady Une mentioned in her earlier call to us, everyone has the right to privacy and can do as they please to see that they do not lose that right.

Our watches over Krutza come up empty. There is not a phone call, not a visitor. He never even left the damned house all day and night.

When it was still my watch and I was sure that he wouldn't be moving from reading that damn book, I was obsessing with watching that office with the safe. Almost obsessing with that black box, my fingers itched as I would just stare at it. Over and over, the combination that Tyce had discovered ran through my head.

Translating the strange number codes on the pages I had scanned during that date is very slow-going. After years of getting used to hundreds, thousands of codes, it's taking time for Agent Link's team to pinpoint exactly which code is being used for communication between Krutza and who knows who else out there.

If it was not more evident before, I know that if we hope to get the proof we need to put Jesse away any time soon, that responsibility lies on my shoulders now. Somewhere in that house, there has to be something that I can get my hands on to end this cat-and-mouse game.

Whatever that is, I'll be damned if I'm not going to find it. I just have to get to that safe that I have my eyes set on.

Now Friday, I have to mentally prepare myself for another evening with the enemy.

Heero walks up to me as the end of my shift arrives for him to take over until we'll be moving out. Smirking, he holds out the long cord for the wire that I will be wearing again. "I promise that I won't be adjusting the tape this time," he snickers, but the apology is also there in his tone for before.

Another showing of that trust on his part.

Returning the smirk, I laugh, "I appreciate that." I get to my feet and remove my shirt, nodding firmly, "Alright. Let's do this."

For the last time, if I have any say in it.
