Created by Love, Blood and Death Epilogue
Two years. I can't believe it's been two years. True to their word, Mother Goddess and Father Time fixed things. Surprisingly Relena and Treize were able to talk things out and form peace. That happened six months after we stopped being pilots. I thought it was impressive.
When we got back, Wufei tried to fit in. He was never happy. So one day he decided he was going to try and find other dragons. He was lucky no one had really become attached to him during his time of punishment. Well, except for us pilots and Shinii. He still comes and visits. Tells us how his search is going. He's found two green dragon clans.
Quatre and Trowa have had a harder time. Quatre's family would know if he disappeared. His sisters were upset to find out that he didn't want to run the family business. Until he said he wanted them to run it. He's been slowly turning things over to them. Trowa has been staying by his side the whole way.
And there's us. We decided to buy a house and try to be normal. We enrolled in school and we got Shinii in school too. We decided that a nice small town would be best. I must say Shinii is adorable as a five year old. Duo bet me fifty dollars that I was that adorable at that age too. I shook my head and went to make dinner.
I was surprised that no one really questions the fact that we have a five year old. We go to school and afterwards we go and pick Shinii up from daycare. Though she has told us several times that she did not need stupid mortals watching over her. Duo chuckled and told she had to keep up appearances.
I've been asked a couple of times how we can afford to live the way we do. I simply tell the nosy neighbors and social worker, cops, teachers, councillors that I had wealthy parents that left me millions. And Duo's parents had also been wealthy. They let it slide and leave us alone. Especially after they saw we could take care of Shinii and ourselves.
"Papa, daddy says to get off that stupid laptop and come have dinner." Shinii stands next to me bouncing on her feet.
"Tell Daddy I'll be there in a minute." I smile at her.
"Uhuh." Shinii shakes her head. "Not again, last time it took you almost an hour. Dinner was cold. Daddy says now." She grabs a hold of my arm and pulls. "Come on, I'm hungry."
"Alright, alright I'm coming, I'm coming."
"Not without me I hope." I look up at Duo. He has a silly ass grin on his face. Shinii has no idea what he's talking about. She just lets go of my arm and takes her seat.
"Duo no baka." I mumble.
"Yeah, but that's why you love me." He wraps his arms around me and kisses me. Gods, I love the feel of him against me. I love the way he tastes too.
"Are we gonna eat or what?" Shinii asks.
Duo chuckles. "Sorry Angel. Didn't mean to starve you."
Two years of simple living. Two years of happiness. I'm happy for the first time since we were punished. I find that my talent for art hasn't left me. Duo says he's thrilled. It's one of things he loves about me. Or at least that's what he tells me. I was surprised to find out he has a lovely singing voice. I found out one night when he sang Shinii to sleep. He doesn't believe me. He is also a great writer. I've read his poems and stories for school. Even his reports are good. Who would have thought that the son of Life and the God of Death could fall in love and have a family?
"Can we do something this weekend?" Duo asks.
"Hn, like what?" His idea interests me. We usually stay at home but getting out would be a nice change.
"I don't know. We could go shopping."
"Duo." I hate shopping.
"Ah come on Hee-chan, you could use some new shoes and I could use some new clothes. And what about Shinii?" Shinii looks at him curiously. "Poor thing has hardly any toys."
"Duo, she has toys."
"What about outdoor toys?"
"Nani?" Outdoor toys, what is he up to?
"Heero she stuck inside all day. She's a kid she should play outside once in a while."
"Alright fine."
That is it we eat and sit to watch a vid. According to Duo, 'it's family time'. At first I hated it, but I get to hold the two most important people in my life. Two years have been wonderful. I live with death and I can't be happier.
