Author's Note: Sorry this took so long but I've had horrible writers block not to mention a new job and working on the book I'm planning to submit for publishing. Huff, being me is not easy, oh well, I hope everyone can forgive me this once. Now... On with the story!
Wolfkin Part 11
The Tale of Hisoka
"K-kassan?" Tsuzuki, the previously silent Beta stuttered out as he watched Liliandra nuzzle the beautiful boy before them. Nicoli nodded as he watched the pair. "There's a long story to that one, trust me." The pale man assured them. "Speaking of which, Lily, don't you think you should tell them why we've been searching them out?" Liliandra sighed as she pulled herself away from the petit blond. "Alright." Looking back to the group she smiled slightly. "This is going to be a long story is there anywhere we can go to get out of this sun? I know it can't be good for that pup of yours." Her purple eyes danced merrily as she addressed Heero.
The Alpha nodded stiffly, still not really trusting the three people before him but also knowing he had to get his mate indoors and seated. Silently, he lead the group into the community hut, being that it was usually used for village meetings and meals it was quite large and fit the whole group inside easily. Heero made sure Duo was comfortably seated in his plush dinning chair before turning his gaze back to the three before him and ordering them to continue.
Liliandra sighed once again but began their sad tale. "Nicoli and I are both very old if you haven't guessed already. I, being an Elf, and he, a Half Immortal, have outlived many traveling companions. We found each other and being that we both were quite lonely, though Nicky will never admit it, decided we'd travel together. One day, roughly sixteen years ago, Nicoli and I were traveling through the woods not too far from this very village when we detected the scent of smoke and blood in the air. At the time I was a journeyman mage, attempting to earn Master status. One part of a mages' code is to help those in need, so we rushed to the scene... only to find the burnt remains of a village.
"Bodies lay strewn across the blood-soaked ground. We could tell immediately that humans had attacked the village, and judging by the amount of raider's bodies mixed with those of the locals, we knew that the villagers had put up one hell of a fight. I began to feel the grief of such a horrible event bearing heavily on my soul, when a sound pierced through the haze of pain. I could tell that Nicky couldn't hear it but my hearing is more sensitive than his so I began to move toward the sound. After a few minutes of nothing, it came again. This time I was able to identify the noise; it was that of a baby's cry.
"I ran as fast as my legs could carry me to the burnt out shell of a house that contained the crying child. What I saw inside broke my heart. A golden-haired Beta male lay on the floor wrapped around his mate and pup, protecting them even though he was near death himself. I approached as slowly as I dared, attempting not to startle them. I could see right away that the Delta was in no better condition than his mate, but even though death was beginning to overtake him, he still clutched his small son close as he cried. 'It's alright.' I said. 'I'm not going to hurt you, I promise.'
"The Delta watched me for a few moments before nodding his head and bidding me closer. 'I wish a favor of you.' He whispered to me. 'I don't have much life in me left and I can't care for my pup any longer. Please... please give him the care that we cannot.' He begged. Tears streamed from my eyes as I nodded my acceptance. His green eyes shined briefly with joy as he handed his pup to me. 'His name is Hisoka, when he's old enough to understand... tell him how much his Mama and Daddy loved him and that we're watching over him.' I agreed and with one last caress to his puppy's cheek he breathed his last. I felt both his and his mate's souls leave their bodies at the exact same time. Not wishing for an instant to be apart.
"I watched the now silent pup in my arms. His green eyes twinkled at me under a tuft of golden-blond hair. Before his mother's spirit had fled his body, I had read enough of his mind to gain both his and his mate's names. Kuro, the beautiful devoted Delta and his strong, protective mate Saki. On that day Hisoka the Wolfkin orphan became, Hisoka Kurosaki, my son. We've been searching for another Wolfkin village ever since. Hoping against hope that maybe one would take him in, maybe he could find a mate, maybe one day he could give Kuro and Saki the grandchildren they'd never get to see."
By the time the Elven mage had completed her tale, Duo's eyes were overflowing with tears. He sniffled slightly and turned to his mate. "Heero?" Blue eyes locked onto his own and the Alpha was kneeling at his side within a matter of seconds. "What's wrong love?" Duo sniffled again as he wrapped his arms around his mate's neck and whispered into his ear. "Please, Heero, let's take him in. I keep thinking that if it were our pup, I'd want another clan to accept him. Please, Heero, please." Heero sighed; he never could refuse his little love anything. Nodding he stood and faced the three before him.
"Hisoka, if you'd like a place in our clan we will happily accept you." Hisoka nodded then voiced a request that none had been expecting. "I do wish to be part of a clan, but if that means I must give up my mother, Uncle Nicoli, and brother, then I must decline. If I'm to stay I request that they be allowed to stay with me." Liliandra smiled and hugged her adopted pup tight. Heero was about to refuse when he saw the look on his mate's face. The sad, pleading look in his violet eyes made his decision for him. The Alpha Male watched the other two for a moment before speaking. "In our society every member of the community contributes something. If you're to stay you must be able to offer something to the village, do you have any skills?"
"'Do we have skills?' he asks." Nicoli muttered before being brutally elbowed in the ribs. Liliandra gave him a warning glance before addressing the clan head. "Nicoli is an accomplished fighter and weapons smith. Most of the weapons he carries are of his own design. I've graduated to Master Mage status and I'm well versed in herb lore as well as the healing arts. I've taught my emerald leaf everything I know about herbs and healing, not to mention he's an extremely powerful empath and slightly telepathic."
"You're an empath?!" Quatre asked Hisoka excitedly. At the green-eyed Delta's nod, the Healer practically bubbled over with excitement. "It's so good to meet another empath! I was beginning to think I was a freak or something." Hisoka smiled slightly at the bouncing blond, it took Trowa a few moments to talk Quatre down from his emotional high. When the hut was once again quite, Duo asked a question that had been bothering him for the past few minutes. "You have a brother?" When all gave him a questioning glance he blushed and clarified himself. "When Heero asked you if you wanted to join our clan you said 'yes' as long as you didn't have to leave your 'mother, Uncle Nicoli, and your brother.' Whose your brother?"
"That would be my other son." All eyes fixed on Liliandra as she explained. "His name is Rion. Nicky and I found him about a month before we found Hisoka. He was near dead living on the outskirts of a human town. The town had been his home until the local yokels discovered his psychic abilities. They stoned him out, can you believe it? Artemis dammed humans, he was four years old! We'd left him at a healer's when we found Hisoka's village, he was so excited when he found out he had a little brother. Having a family brought him such joy. He stopped at a trader's a few miles back and should be catching up with us shortly. Rion can make clothing by the way so he shouldn't be a burden."[1]
Heero watched the three before him and weighed his options. Finally he nodded to himself. "Alright. Welcome to the Eora Clan." Liliandra let out a whoop of joy. "Alright were in! Hey Nicky guess what? You have to make us a house now!" Nicoli growled. "Damn it woman! Stop calling me Nicky, and who the hell said I was building you a house?!" The Alpha Male shook his head as he turned back to the rest of his clan. "Wufei, Trowa, go into the woods and help Nicoli pick out some trees to use for their dwelling. Yuki, I believe you have a day off to be getting back to. Quatre, take Liliandra to your hut and give her a tour, she's going to be assisting you from now on. Tsuzuki, why don't you show Hisoka around the village?" Tsuzuki nodded enthusiastically as a big grin plastered itself onto his face. He grabbed the blonde's arm and began to drag him out the door. "Come on Hisoka, I'll show everything you need to see. Including... THE BEST PLACES TO FIND FOOD!!"
Heero sighed as he watched the others clear out. "I swear, that man has a bottomless stomach and a never ending sweet tooth." He turned back around and smiled at his mate. "Thank you." His eyebrow arched as he kneeled back down next to his little love. "For what sweet one?" Duo smiled into the loving blue eyes locked on his own. "For giving them a chance."
TBC...
[1] Rion is from the Playstation and Playstation 2 games "Galerians" and it's sequel "Galerians: Ash".
Rion is the hero in both games though he is 14 in the first and 20 in the second. Ash in the main bad guy in the sequel and he and Rion have a couple of steamy kissing scenes throughout the game. My first yaoiful game and I suggest that any yaoi fangirl give it a try. *winks*
Someone asked me (and I can't remember who it was, I'm so sorry) why I was adding so many different characters in. Trust me there is a reason, I've got this great idea planned out. I just hope it'll be as good in writing as it is in my head!
There done! I hope I didn't make anyone cry... too much. The next chapters of all my stories should be out soon if everything goes according to schedule. *Sigh* Cross your fingers guys. ; )
