Tiki Part 4
"Look who finally showed up!" Sally said to her lunch companion and then hollered across the cafeteria: "Feeling better, Chang?"
Duo turned to see Wufei stalking through the cafeteria, and quickly turned around again, hiding a smile.
"I've been looking for you," Wufei said as he sat down in the chair next to Duo. "I-"
"Ahem," Duo coughed and looked at Sally. "It is nice to see Wufei back on his feet, isn't it?"
"It is," Sally grinned back. "Though I do wonder if he should be here. Are you sure you're feeling better?"
"Of course," Wufei snapped. "Don't I look healthy?"
"Well, you were limping a little," Sally pointed out, and was surprised to see Wufei turn a dark red. Oh, so it was like that, was it? She hid a smile and resolved to get the details out of him later. "I have a meeting with the boss-lady, so I'll get going. See you two later."
She was barely away from the table, before Wufei leaned across it and hissed at Duo: "Why didn't you warn me?!"
"Would you have believed me if I said- 'hey Wufei, you know those tikis Quatre sent? Well, they are actually very old sex-crazed gods who want to be worshipped.' Yeah, you would have so bought that."
Wufei opened his mouth and then closed it again, considering. "Okay, point there. But tell me how to get rid of them!"
"Get rid of-?" Duo blinked at him. "I don't know how to do that."
"But you're here! I had to sneak out of my apartment this morning! I've barely gotten any sleep! They are insatiable! How did you get free?"
Duo grinned. "Oh, I asked. Mine's very reasonable. We were able to compromise." He lifted a hand in the air and waved at a person just entering the room. "Hey! Heero! Over here!"
"And he just let you go?" Wufei snarled. "Why are you inviting someone to join us? I still-" He stopped as the newcomer arrived at the table.
"Hello," the blue-eyed man smiled at Wufei. "You would be Zechs and Treize's worshipper, yes?"
"How does he-?" Wufei looked wildly at Duo.
"They just woke up and are looking for you. I won't tell them you're here, but you should be prepared to deal with them when you return home."
"You're- you're..."
"This is Heero Yuy," Duo said with a smile. "My new- roommate. He's working in the IT department."
Wufei sputtered for a moment, before landing on one question. "What would he know about tech?"
"I'm a fast learner." Heero smiled. "Zechs and Treize can be reasonable. Explain your concerns. I am sure the three of you can reach a compromise."
"Compromise?" Wufei repeated. "Like maybe having them go away?"
"You could always ask."
Wufei got to his feet and headed towards the door, muttering under his breath.
"Will they do that?" Duo asked.
"Doubtful. Despite his attitude here, he is apparently -very- enthusiastic in bed." Heero smiled. "But I am sure another compromise can be reached."
