After that Tro/Quat fic, I seemed to be haunted by tikis- found some at the Disney Store of all places, and then with that and some people's comments about them, the muses got roused. So....

Tiki Part 2

"Delivery."

Duo stood to one side as the deliveryman rolled the tall box into his house. "What is it?"

The deliveryman grunted. "Don't look at me pal, I just drop off the boxes. Sign here." Duo signed and then closed the door. The box was nearly as tall as he was, and when he gave it an experimental push- pretty damn heavy.

"Weird," he muttered as he tore off the label. "Who is sending me giant packages?" He scanned the label and his eyes widened. "Quatre?"

But Quatre was missing. His plane had gone down weeks ago- and no one had found any sign of him.

"Maybe he sent it before?" Duo wondered as he pulled the cardboard box open. Why had his old childhood friend sent him- what the hell was this?

Duo finished stripping the box away and frowned at the contents. "A tiki? Why did Quatre send me a tiki?" Granted, Quatre was famous for giving odd presents, but this one took the cake. Duo circled the statue. It was kind of cool- the carving was very detailed and he liked the blue the eyes had been painted on the statue- but still- a tiki?

"What was Quatre thinking?" He said to the statue and blew his bangs out of his eyes. He bent down to pick up the label again- there was no note, nothing that explained why the statue had been sent to him- but maybe Quatre had meant to explain in person?

The label offered no clues. Not even a shipping date. With a sigh, Duo gathered up all the cardboard and wrapping. Where was he going to put the thing? He couldn't just leave it by his front door- maybe in the kitchen? Or out on the balcony? That would give the neighbors something to talk about.

Duo tossed himself down on his couch when he finished, flicking on the TV. His eyes kept wandering to the statue sitting by his door. He wasn't going to get rid of Quatre's last gift- but where the hell was he going to put it?

Closing his eyes, Duo yawned and settled a little deeper onto his couch. He'd take a nap, he decided, and then move the statue.

A soft touch on the inside of his thigh- a mouth? A hand? It moved upwards and Duo stifled a gasp. Was he dreaming?

More touches- flickering over his body- his blood igniting in his veins. He had to be dreaming- he'd been dressed when he laid down on the couch- and alone. Now he could feel the material beneath him on his bare skin- and he definitely wasn't alone.

Duo opened his eyes, the flickering light from the tv illuminating the figure beside him. It had to be a dream- he didn't recognize the man bent over him, his blue eyes gleaming at Duo from under a messy fall of hair.

The light-haired one promised me a worthy offering. He didn't lie.

Duo tried to puzzle that out- but he couldn't think- not with the man's touch on his skin, his hands sliding between Duo's legs, opening him up, making that fire in his blood burn hotter.

Will you give yourself to me?

Duo couldn't find the words to answer. He couldn't think- he could only react- and he did, welcoming the man down into his embrace, lifting his hips-

He closed his eyes again, matching the rhythm the other set- if this was only a dream; he was going to spend the rest of his life asleep- hoping to have it again-

Duo woke.

The tv was still playing, the clock showed that no more than an hour had passed- though it had felt longer-

Had it been a dream?

But... his clothes were beside the couch- had he taken them off somehow? He turned to pick them up, and winced slightly. No... why would he feel...? Unless...

Duo frowned, trying to figure it out. He looked around the room, his eyes stopping on the tiki by the door.

That blue... and was the damn thing smirking at him now? He was sure it had been frowning before.

Couldn't be.

But if it was....

"Why do you have that hideous thing in your bedroom Duo?" Wufei asked as he rejoined his friend in the kitchen.

"You didn't touch it, did you?" Duo frowned as he looked up from his dinner.

"No. I nearly fell over it trying to get to your bathroom, but I didn't touch it." Wufei rolled his eyes as he sat down again. "Did Quatre send it to you?"

"Yeah- must've been right before-" Duo bit his lip. "I got it a few days ago."

"That explains it," Wufei sighed as he picked up his fork. "I got a package from him this morning. He sent me two of those things! What do you suppose he was thinking?"

Duo's eyes widened. "Two of them?"

"Yes. Two." Wufei shook his head. "I don't know what I'm going to do with them. I hate to give away Quatre's last gift- unless you want them?"

Duo shook his head. "Oh no. No. One is plenty for me. He's all I can handle. They're all yours."

Wufei wondered at his friend's odd choice of phrase. "I wonder why he sent me two- do you suppose one of yours got lost in the mail?"

Duo smiled. Quatre had always said Wufei was more than one person could handle. "Nope- I think he knew exactly what he was doing."
