For the gw_bakery's swimsuit challenge.

I know it's short and cliché but after being around hotel pools all week, this is the first thing that occurred to me.

Pool Time

I slung my towel over my shoulder as I followed Heero down to the pool.

"Are you sure no one else uses it at this time of day?" I asked, wiping the sweat off the back of my neck. "We are having a heat wave you know."

He shot a quick glance at me over his bare shoulder. "Positive. I swim every day at this time- no one is ever in the pool."

We reached the ground floor and headed outside. Sure enough, I saw lots of Heero's neighbors on their balconies, with frosted glasses and sunshades, but the long lap pool was empty. Weird- I knew this was a kid-free building, but you'd think someone would want to be swimming- especially in this heat.

There was a faint stirring from the balconies and I cast another quick look over them as Heero kicked off his shoes.

Huh... they all seemed to be looking at the pool... had someone been here the first time Heero had come down and he'd scared them off? Were they all waiting for him to finish?

I turned to my partner, intent on asking him, but at that moment, he pulled off the towel he had wrapped around his waist- and I heard a sighing sound rise up from the balconies.

Couldn't blame them! Heero tended to like bathing suits that didn't get in the way of swimming- if you know what I mean? I know I appreciated the sight.

Heero dove cleanly into the pool and did a lap, surfacing on the other end to call to me:

"Coming in Duo?"

Glancing around at our audience I was oddly glad I had opted for the more conservative of my swimsuits. I shrugged off my towel and quickly dove in the pool.

Once in the water, it was easy enough to forget the watchers, especially when Heero challenged me to a race. The water was cool; it felt good to just relax and have fun for a bit.

Heero got out of the pool before I did, and I swear there was a faint hiss of disappointment from a balcony or two. We dried off quickly and headed inside. We met several ladies in swimsuits heading downstairs who greeted us cheerfully on our way back up to Heero's apartment.

"So, you swim every day at the same time?" I asked as he opened the door for me.

"Yes- didn't I say so earlier?"

"You did," I grinned as he closed the door. "I was just wondering if I should set up a concession stand. I could make a killing on lemonade, popcorn, binoculars..."

Heero gave me a blank look for a minute and I wondered if he had somehow missed the fact he had an audience. Then he smiled faintly.

"I have tried swimming at night, but then they just turn the light on in the pool." He shook his head. "At least this early most of them aren't home from work yet..."

"Poor man," I ruffled his wet hair. "Most men would kill for that sort of audience."

"I'm not most men," he leaned close and brushed a kiss over my cheek. "You aren't upset are you?"

I shook my head and slipped an arm around his waist. "I don't care how much you get ogled in your swimsuit," I chuckled against his collarbone, "as long as I'm the only one who sees you out of it..."
