Mage vs. Guard Sidefic
Ambush
The warm water cradled his body, relaxing his limbs and easing his headache. Heero leaned back against the edge of the pool and closed his eyes. What a horrible day. Meeting after meeting after meeting... all of them near pointless, even when he did pay attention. And afterwards that group of students had nearly destroyed his workroom with that silly argument. He fingered the bruise on his arm and frowned as the door to the bathing room swung open. He'd told the attendant he didn't want to be...
Oh. "Duo."
"There you are." The door to the bathing room closed with a click behind his guard.
"I locked that door." Heero frowned.
"Like that ever stops me." Duo smiled back cheerfully. "And I told the attendant that if he lets anyone else near that door, you'd turn him into a frog."
"I might still." Heero grumbled as Duo started undressing. "I thought you had practice."
"I did have practice. But then there was that loud boom from your tower and I got distracted, so Chang told me I was finished for the day."
Heero eyed his guard warily as Duo approached the pool. "What exactly did you do when you were distracted?" He knew Duo's version of distracted was unique...
"I knocked Ken out." Duo shrugged. "He'll be fine." He slid into the pool and moved towards Heero, hands out in front of him as if he was approaching a skittish animal.
Which in a way, he was.
"You knew I had students in there," Heero shifted a bit on the bench. Duo followed.
"I knew you did- but I also know that you seem to get into trouble when I'm not around."
Heero snorted. "And you don't?"
"Just that one time." Duo was close enough to touch now. "You're injured," he said, reaching for Heero's arm.
"Just bruised. I asked them what they would do in a certain scenario and they started to argue about it. One of the kids tried a poltergeist spell."
Duo winced. "So stuff went flying?"
"Everything went flying- and another one tried to stop the spell- with the wrong incantation. Thus the boom." Heero shook his head. "Why can't I just go off and fight evil doers? Why do I have to have students?"
Duo's fingers moved carefully over the mark, up to Heero's shoulder. "No wonder you're tense."
"I was hoping to relax..."
"And so you will." Duo moved closer still, his expression one Heero knew all too well.
"Not like that..."
"But it does relax you," Duo slid onto Heero's lap, bent his head and placed his lips against Heero's cheek. "Right?"
Heero swallowed hard. "Yes..." He admitted. "But I'm exhausted, my head hurts..." Duo's hand touched the back of his neck, rubbing gentle circles, easing the tense muscles. "Oh..."
Duo brushed his lips over Heero's cheekbone. "Relax. Let me do this for you." Heero closed his eyes; let Duo tilt his head forward so it rested on Duo's shoulder.
He waited patiently, massaging the tired muscles, knowing Heero was much more malleable after this kind of activity. Once Heero relaxed against him, the small pain line between his brows smoothing away, Duo reached down between them.
Heero made a faint noise when Duo found what he was looking for, but he didn't protest. Duo smiled. This would be easier than usual then. Good. Maybe Heero was finally realizing that Duo was quite serious about all this. With his free hand, he caught Heero's wrist.
"Get me ready?" He murmured and guided Heero's fingers to the right place.
"I thought you were always ready," Heero said against his throat, and Duo bit his lip as Heero's fingers gently began their task.
"Always willing," Duo corrected with a faint gasp and Heero chuckled. Duo tightened his fingers slightly in retaliation and was rewarded with a moan.
The contest had started.
Fingers caressed, mouths touched, hands teased. Duo managed to move Heero's fingers out of the way and replace them with something far more satisfactory. Not that Heero gave in so easily, he retaliated with caresses that made Duo arch against him helplessly. Then the contest was forgotten, it faded into something else entirely...
When it was over, Duo pulled Heero from the pool, dried him off and took him to bed. Curled up beside the dozing mage, he let his hands wander through Heero's damp hair.
"One of these days I won't have to coax you into this." He whispered into the mage's ear.
"One of these days you'll realize I'm not the challenge you pretend I am," Heero murmured back.
Duo just smiled.
