One part down and two to go on my thesis! Which is good. I met with the plotbunny generator yesterday, and I sooo wanted to write fanfic after that I gave myself two hours to do just that! So this is what happened... set pretty much right after the last installment, so you can go back and check if you want!
Ifrits & Angels Sidefic 2
Heero put his head down on the makeshift cot and groaned. "So, let me get this straight. You traded Chang for Barton and Winner?"
A sigh greeted his query. "Master, you've asked me that five times now. The answer isn't going to change."
"I know.... I just keep hoping it will. But... why?"
"Because the objective was to free the ifrit and his lover. That's what I was brought in to do."
Well, Heero couldn't argue that one. "But-"
"Chang was available, he has no other connections, and besides, the Guardian of the Scales liked him." Duo snorted, plainly not impressed with the Guardian's taste. "It was the optimal solution."
"The church-"
"Gets another powerful ally. I am sure they won't complain."
Okay, so he had a point there too. Heero closed his eyes; his head was starting to hurt. "And you are sure the Guardian doesn't mean to keep him over there?"
"He indicated that he was more than happy to be able to leave, he just wanted some time to talk Chang around to accepting him."
Faint hope there, the mage was a stubborn bastard. "You realize that may never happen?"
There was another snort, clearly indicating that Duo had already thought about this and was fine with that result.
Heero frowned a little. Maybe Quatre could talk to the Guardian when Trowa was feeling better, he doubted Duo would let him get near the well, and he sincerely doubted Chang was just going to agree to... well, whatever the Guardian was asking.
A gentle touch on his temples made him open his eyes. Duo was leaning over him, examining him closely. "You are in pain, master?"
"Just a headache-"
"You need to rest. You were already burnt out before we got on the plane here-"
"I slept on the plane," Heero protested as Duo ran his fingers over Heero's forehead.
"Not enough." Duo leaned further over, brushing his lips over the corner of Heero's mouth. "Please- you need to sleep, just for a while."
Heero wanted to turn his head, wanted to chase Duo's mouth with his own, wanted to wear himself out still more... but...
"I should check on the others."
"I'll go, if you promise to rest."

Duo stepped out of the tent, frowning. He could feel the other inside him stirring, could feel his frustration mixing with his own. He wasn't sure how much longer he could do this...
"You look angry."
He turned to find Quatre standing near, a covered plate in his hands.
"How is your mage?"
"Recovering," Quatre's smile flashed out. "He wasn't in danger of dying, of course, but he still needs sustenance and rest."
"So even your gift isn't perfect?"
"Of course not. There has to be some sort of balance- he still needs what humans always need." Quatre sighed.
"At least he accepted it."
"Well, I didn't really give him a choice," Duo blinked as Quatre's eyes glowed molten gold for a moment. "I wasn't going to be without him, even if he hated me for it."
"I understand."
"I know you do." The glow faded and Quatre gave him a faintly sheepish smile. "That's why I already did the same for your master."
"What?" Quatre had-
"Old friend- you are... not well. The only thing keeping you well is him. I wasn't going to take the risk." Quatre shrugged as Duo gaped at him, relief spreading through him at Quatre's admission, the other making his delight known. "But- enough of this. Once your master has rested, you should take him home. Trowa and I will wait for Wufei and the Guardian."
"Do you really think Chang will accept...?"
Quatre laughed. "Oh, I think it will be good for him."

Heero unlocked his front door with a sigh of relief. "Home at last." And he still had a few weeks left before term started.
"Good," Duo followed him inside, placing the suitcases by the bottom of the stairs as Heero fished his phone out of his pocket. "Messages?"
"None." Heero frowned a little. He hoped Chang emerged from the well soon. He hadn't truly wanted to leave, but he also knew when Chang emerged- if Chang emerged- he wasn't going to be pleased with Duo. Better to be out of range. "It's nice to be home with no papers to grade, or courses to get ready for- I'll finally have time to focus on that article I need to write. You can..."
Before he could finish the sentence, he found himself pinned gently to the wall, Duo's lips nearly brushing his. "I can?" Duo repeated and pressed his mouth firmly against Heero's.
That wasn't what he'd meant, Heero wanted to protest as he opened his lips under Duo's, but it was hard to remember what he hadn't meant when Duo was doing this...
"Please," he heard and wasn't sure for a moment which one of them had said it. "Don't keep me away anymore..."
He should say no. Duo hadn't spent enough time in this world yet.
"Master, beloved, please... it has been so long."
That voice from the darkness where he'd found Duo. So long alone... he couldn't refuse that voice, couldn't refuse the pleading he felt in Duo's caress.
Returning the kiss, he breathed his answer across Duo's lips. "Yes."

Wufei squinted at the light, his legs giving way beneath him as he stumbled against the rock wall. He felt so weak, damn it all to hell- or someplace equally unpleasant.
He was going to kill that fucking demon of Yuy's, and the damn thing was a demon, no matter what the hell it claimed to be, and when he got his hands on it...
"Shhh, my heart, don't be so angry. You will feel better soon once you have consumed the food of this world."
I can't even stand up, he wanted to snap, but couldn't manage the energy.
Not that it mattered. Gentle hands helped him to his feet and he suppressed a snarl. "It would be better if you'd let me carry you, my heart."
"Stop calling me that-"
"You didn't mind it a few hours ago."
Wufei felt his face burn in reply. He truly didn't want to remember what had happened a few hours ago. Temporary insanity brought on by lack of food and...
"You weren't insane, my heart. I would call it a moment of clarity."
"Please stay the hell out of my head."
"I can't, I'm sorry."
Bracing himself against the rock, Wufei took a step and the world swung around him dizzily. There was an exasperated sigh.
A moment later he was supported in a tight embrace, being carried towards a small group of tents. He could see Barton and Winner waiting for him there before he closed his eyes.
No sign of the other two- damn it all. He wanted to wring that demon's neck...
"And I wanted to thank him..."
