Halloween Drabble 9
Duo opened the door to Heero's office. "Ready for lunch?"
"Give me five minutes," Heero answered without looking away from his computer screen. "I've got to check that dvd we found at the scene this morning."
"You don't really believe the crap that was written on the case do you? Halloween is only a few days away, I'm sure it's just some kind of scary trick."
"Maybe," Heero shrugged. "We found something similar at that last scene too, though..."
Duo shook his head. "Coincidence. Like I said, it's nearly Halloween. A movie can't make people vanish. Someone either took them or they walked out of their lives."
"I just want to check," Heero popped the dvd into his computer. "Go ahead, I'll be down in five minutes."
Duo chuckled. "Okay, I'll save a spot for you." He left just as the screen on Heero's computer turned black.
Duo waited for Heero throughout lunch. His partner's office was empty when he went back upstairs, he thought the man might have gotten caught up in something- maybe there was some kind of clue on the dvd.
He didn't start to panic until a few hours later. He searched the building, talked to everyone. No one had seen Heero.
He had just disappeared.
The Commander wanted Duo to take a break, get some rest- and Duo agreed. But before he left the headquarters on Halloween morning, he stopped by Heero's office and took the dvd out of his computer. He hadn't mentioned it to anyone else, it seemed too strange...
But he was going to go home and watch it.
At the very least, he'd be with Heero again.
