For mechante fille- some Wufei/Zechs on break...

Drabble 84

Wufei finished entering the last grade and clicked save. Pulling off his glasses, he rubbed his eyes and waited for the program to assure him that it had indeed saved his changes.

"What the hell are you doing?" A voice asked amiably from the doorway. "Last time I checked, it's Winter Break."

"I had to get the grades in," Wufei answered without turning around. "And you know students- some of them turned in their projects right at the last possible moment- with every excuse known to man for their lateness."

"I know," a warm hand touched the back of his neck, caressing gently and Wufei relaxed under that touch. "But I think I can still feel a little resentful of them stealing our time."

"What time?" Wufei turned just enough in his chair to face Zechs. "Weren't you the one who had the last minute meeting this morning?"

"True, but I had hoped to come home and find you where I left you," Zechs smiled and Wufei rolled his eyes. "I know, I know- you don't feel comfortable in my apartment when I'm not there." He perched on the side of the desk as Wufei blinked in surprise.

"I never said that-"

"You wouldn't. I can just tell." Zechs leaned forward and ran his fingers over Wufei's tie. "Aren't you a little formal for being in here on your day off?"

"I had to talk to the Dean this morning about classes for next semester."

Zechs leaned back, frowning. "Is he adding to your workload again?"

Wufei sighed and rubbed his eyes again. "He wanted me to consider again taking the history course that covers the First Eve War."

"What? I hope you said no."

"Of course I said no. There's no way I could be subjective about something like that and he knows it. He just wants the notoriety of having a course about the gundams taught by a gundam pilot."

Zechs regarded him thoughtfully for a moment. "I suppose I could always offer to teach that course."

"I thought you were trying to keep a low profile?"

"I am, but if it keeps him from trying to coerce you into it, then it might be worth it."

Wufei sighed and shook his head. "Trying to play the hero for me again?"

"Of course. Be honest- it usually gets me what I want after all, right? You haven't forgotten the kitten incident? Or the time that your apartment was flooded? Or-"

Wufei reached up and pulled Zechs down into a kiss, effectively silencing him. At least for a moment or two-

"Are you finished? Can you come home with me?"

"I am. Yes." Wufei made sure that his changes were saved and then shut down the computer. "You know," he said as he got to his feet and pulled on his coat. "Maybe it's my turn for some heroics in this relationship."

Zechs chuckled as they left Wufei's office. "Don't be ridiculous. You already have played the hero here. Haven't you saved me?"

"If I ask you from what, you are going to give me some ridiculously cheesy romantic answer aren't you?"

That made Zechs laugh outright. "Well, now I can't. I'll just have to take you home and show you. How many more days do you have off?"

"Who says you get to use all of them?"

"This again is a point for me to spout romantic stuff-"

"Five- and yes, I'll spend them with you."

"That won't nearly be long enough-"

"You had to say something like that, didn't you?"
