Note: This is part of the 'itune meme': "Choose a number between 1 and 815. Comment with that number and a fandom (one I am familiar with- ask if you aren't sure), and I will write a ficlet (I'd say drabble but I might not stick to 100 words thing) based on the corresponding song in my iTunes."

212 (request by sharona1x2) is Shake, Rattle & Roll. I took a few lines from the lyrics and went with them!

Drabble 69

It wasn't as if Heero made a lot of noise in the kitchen, Duo thought to himself as he stuck his head underneath the pillow. In fact, he tended to make very little noise. It certainly wasn't his fault that Duo just happened to have a very good imagination and the slightest sound turned into a picture in his head. Really, that wasn't Heero's fault at all.

But the pajama pants were Heero's fault. Old, well washed, very thin- they covered Heero quite well- except when he was standing in the bright sunlight that graced their kitchen every Sunday morning.

Then they were transparent. The sun went straight through them and Duo... well, after a few Sunday mornings spent in the kitchen trying desperately not to look and not managing it in the slightest... Duo decided that on Sundays he was going to sleep in. Otherwise who knew what he'd be driven to do?

Course, sleeping in was just the code term for lying in bed listening to Heero's faint sounds in the kitchen and imagining just what Heero- in those pajama pants- was doing in their well-lit kitchen. But it was better than actually being there and seeing what he was doing- or so Duo told himself repeatedly.

It wasn't like he hadn't tried. He'd bought Heero different pajamas for holidays. He'd tried losing Heero's laundry. He'd even thought about ripping some holes in the things- except then he realized that Heero might wear them anyway- and the resulting image made him lock himself in the bathroom for an hour long cold shower.

Maybe he should move out. Get a place of his own- preferably one without a window in the kitchen. But then he'd miss all the other things about having Heero as a roommate- and really, it was only Sunday mornings that were the problem. All the other mornings, Heero would be up, showered and dressed before he even set foot in the kitchen.

The sounds coming from the kitchen had ceased. Duo removed the pillow from his head and listened. Usually Heero finished breakfast and went to read on the sofa. The living room never got direct light and once Heero was there, it was usually safe to get up.

Sliding out of bed, Duo made his way carefully down the hallway, cat-quiet, listening carefully. The kitchen was before the living room, and he slipped in quickly, hoping that it was empty.

It wasn't.

Heero looked up from his coffee cup and frowned at his roommate. "Are you okay? It's early for you to be up. Was I making too much noise?" Sitting on one of the chairs, feet curled around the rungs, right in a beam of sunlight, in those damn pajamas- for one moment lust whited out Duo's mind completely.

"Um... no. No noise... I just...I..." What was he talking about? What had Heero asked him? "Uh, see you still have those pajamas..." Where the hell did that come from? Why had he even said...?

"Ah," Heero was suddenly in front of him, his lips curving in a smile. "Of course. They're your favorites."
