Cat-shifting Pirates Halloween Drabble

Trowa didn't dare close his eyes- he could feel exhaustion tugging at his senses, knew his body wanted- needed sleep- but he didn't dare fall asleep.

How could his life have turned upside down in so short a time? Only this morning, he'd been with his Prince, returning from negotiations, looking forward to getting home.

Then the pirates had attacked- and he'd found himself facing something from a legend. He'd never believed that they existed- but when the pirates he fought had changed into beasts-

He'd expected to be torn to pieces. Not captured. They'd trussed him up and he'd lain beside his friends waiting for their fate to be decided.

At least they'd let the Prince go- he would have happily traded his life for such a bargain, but the Captain hadn't even tried such a trick. Merely declared that it was too dangerous to keep the Prince-

Considering the way the Captain had put his cheek against Trowa's- the way he'd scented the air- Trowa wondered now if it was something else other than trouble. There was something that the Captain had scented about him- something that had made him toss Trowa into the arms of his second-

"This one might be some use. What do you think, Quatre?"

The blond had held him close, and he'd felt a surge in his blood as his captor had nuzzled him. "Oh, I think so. Can I keep this one?"

He'd opened his mouth to protest, but the blond placed a hand on his throat. The faint sting of sharpened claws against his skin silenced him. Now was not the time to protest. Later... maybe later he could escape...

He'd watched the Captain approach Heero- and felt his jaw drop open when Heero- his friend, his fellow bodyguard, someone he'd fought and bled with- revealed his true nature.

How had he never known? Never guessed?

He leaned his head back against the wall. Was Heero even still alive? He'd thrown himself over the railing- just when Trowa had expected him to tear out that damn Captain's throat- Heero had taken one look at their Prince- and-

Well, Trowa couldn't blame the Prince. It had been a shock. The Captain had gone right after him, hauled Heero back up on the deck- but before Trowa could see if Heero was still breathing, the blond- Quatre- had dragged Trowa over to the pirate's ship and tossed him into this small room.

It wasn't the brig- as far as he could tell. The floor was covered with soft cushions- there was a chest in the corner- if this was a prison cell, it was a comfortable one at least.

He tugged again on the ropes that bound him. His wrists were raw and bleeding, but he hadn't managed to even slip the ropes a little. Had his Prince truly been set free?

It grew darker, the small bit of light that shone through the porthole dimmed, and Trowa found it harder to keep awake.

The door swung open and a flash of light swung across the room, making Trowa blink. The blond stepped into the room, his lips curved in a smile.

"I'm sorry you were left so long alone. There were some things that required my attention." He put the lantern down on the chest and turned to face Trowa.

Trowa remained silent. He wanted to ask about the others- wanted to ask exactly what this man's intentions were- but he didn't want to play his hand too early.

Quatre sat down on the pillows beside him, tossing off his boots. He tilted his head, sniffing the air and then leaned close to Trowa. Flinching, Trowa tried to move away, but there was no where to go. He'd tucked himself into the corner- a bad move on his part.

"You're bleeding." With a surprisingly gentle touch, the other man touched the rope around Trowa's wrists. "Would you like me to remove these?"

Was that a trick question? What was this man playing at?

"I'm sure you would. Wouldn't it be nice to stretch? To wash yourself? To eat?"

"At what price?"

"So you do have a voice." Quatre's smile didn't waver. "A simple trade. That's all."

"A trade?"

Quatre was still leaning against him, he leaned closer still, putting his lips on Trowa's neck. "An exchange of comforts- if you will."

Trowa tried to ignore the rush of heat that rushed through his veins. "I'm not interested in-"

"Oh, but you are. I can smell your desire... that's why we took you after all..."

Damn it... "What about my Prince? Did you set him free?"

"He is free. Already on his way back home."

"And Heero?"

"I didn't get paid for answering your last question."

Trowa swallowed hard. He could do this... Turning his head, he placed his mouth on Quatre's, opening his lips and letting the other ravage his mouth...

Desire surged through him. Oh, he was in so much trouble...

"Very good," Quatre murmured against his mouth. "Heero will be well. He was still breathing when the Captain pulled him from the waves. It takes more than a little salt water to kill a pureblood."

It was easier this time, to bring his lips to Quatre's- too easy.

"Now," said his captor, his breath warm against Trowa's skin. "Let us settle down into some serious bargaining..."
