Boxing Day Horror
When someone tapped on Duo's shoulder to let him know it was his turn to go on break, the long-haired boy was ready to scream in frustration.
After being interrupted by a couple of customers, he finally went to the staff lounge.
His co-worker, and lover, was sitting on the couch, engrossed in the book he was reading.
"Heero," Duo whined, "the people outside are crazy! They were acting like everything is free here. Can you get this for me? Can you get me that? Where can I find this? And when I told them what they were looking for was no longer available in the store, they made it sound like it's all MY fault that it's all sold out. Arrrgggg! Can't we kick them all out and just go home?"
Heero snickered as Duo ranted, "There, there. A couple more hours and we'll be done with our shifts. I'll make it up to you when we get home." He petted Duo's braided head.
"Promise?" Watery puppy eyes stared back at him.
"Promise. Cross my heart and hope to die," Heero answered seriously.
"Okay," Duo conceded, "give me a couple kisses to tie me over until the end of the shift, so that I won't be tempted to murder someone today."
Heero swiftly complied, until Duo deemed he was ready to face the chaos outside again.
